What Google Classroom is

lotyoucando,itislimitedtoassignmentsandupdates.

OneofthebiggestperksofGoogleClassroomisthatyoucanattachlinksandfiles,including
GoogleDrivefiles.Youcanattachthemforviewing,editing,orbestofallmakeeachstudenta
copyofthefileforindividualediting.Thismeansthatyoucancreateatemplateofan
assignmentandcopyittoeachstudenttofillin.Thishasmanybenefitsthatwewillcoverlater.
Thiswasonlypossiblebeforethroughpaid3rdpartyservices.

communicatewithyou.Whileyoucouldalwaysdothiswithemail,butClassroomhasemail
linkstotheteacheraswellastheabilitytopostcommentsandquestionsundereach
assignmentorteacherupdate.

What Google Classroom is not

notafullLMS(LearningManagementSystems)
Classroomislimitedinitsscopeinordertostreamlinetheexperience.Ifyouhaveeverused
Edmodo,Moodle,orespeciallySchoology,youhaveprobablynoticedalotgoingon.These
learningmanagementsitestrytobeallthingsonlineschoolrelatedinonespot.Sowhilethey
havealotoffunctionality,theycanbecumbersomeandunintuitive.

GoogleClassroomisfocusedonassignmentsandcommunication,andtothatendonlyallows
youtodothosethings.Thereisnotattendancefeature,nobehaviortrackingorbuiltintesting

simple,untilyouwanttotacklethosemoreadvancedthings.
