The top medical careers in 2020 are medical assistant, registered nurse, therapist
and dentist hygienist based on the studies conducted between 2012 - 2015. The purpose
of this research report was to find out the job opportunities in the medical field in 2020.
The importance of this research report is to provide a list of medical jobs in 2020 for
students. The pieces of information found in this research report were based on five
sources: First, Martin MacDowell, a professor in a college of pharmacy, revealed the job
description of healthcare, medical and pharmaceuticals careers. Second, the website of
top medical assistant schools indicated the high-demand job that were found across the
world is health care jobs. Then, the bureau of labor statistics pointed out there will be an
average of 19 percent growth from 2014 to 2024 of employment in medical field which is
faster than other careers. Next, the HIT discussed the most in-demand medical jobs are
registered nurse, medical assistant, therapist and dentist hygienist. Finally, the UKCES
provided a list of 40 top jobs in 10 key occupations including the medical careers which
will be crucial for the next decade.
Jobs Under Medical Field

field are divided into a wide variety of workforce sectors include diagnosis,

rehabilitation, healing and preventive services. The combination of those sectors includes
the holistic health, wellness and pharmaceutical production and sales of the individuals.
For instance, internists or physicians who are trained to focus on the internal medication
mostly diagnose various types of diseases that can take place in the body systems. They
are usually the first doctors who will be in charge of identifying the problems and
illnesses.The working time of the professionals in the medical and healthcare field which
is depend on the patients is often shifted and varied in hours. For example, the physicians
that work in hospitals may be requested to work during night or weekends. The registered
nurses regularly shift their schedules through out the day. The most important objective
for medical careers is to provide the best wellness to patients since they have to directly
deal with them. In order to serve a good treatment and diagnose the cause of illnesses,
they should be responsive and very sensitive to all patient needs. All the professionals
and physicians who work in the healthcare and medical field have to graduate Bachelor
programs in certain fields. They are also required to complete variety of vocational
education such as the training programs for specific positions, working time for learning
hands-on experience in the medial field. Most of the professionals and specialists
generally first work in public health settings before they move to the private medical
establishments later in their jobs.

the medical and healthcare jobs such as long-term healthcare, residential programs and
preventive treatment are absolutely high in demand. According to the website of bureau
of labor statistics, it pointed out that employment of medical and health care jobs will
grow 19 percent from 2014 to 2024 which is the fastest rate growth when compared to
other careers. While there will be an average of 40 percent growth between 2012 and
2022 of the people who ages 65 and older which is the quickest expansion of any age
groups. The healthcare and medical services are much more needed by the older people
than younger people. Consequently, the medical and healthcare industries are anticipated
to serve more jobs and required more workers as their business continually develop.

registered nurse, medical assistant, dentist hygienist and physical therapist are the most
high in demand of medical careers. Although those careers are in demand, it was very
difficult to get a chance in order to study and graduate in this field because many efforts

nursing are available across the board. Then, the medical assistants who make a response
in administrative tasks typically work in the hospital or doctors office. The growth rate
of medical assistants is estimated to increase for 31 percent from 2010 to 2020 which is
much more faster than most professions. This percentage indicates the available positions
in this type of specific career. Furthermore, the dental hygienists who perform their job to
clean the patients teeth before, during and after the dental procedures. They always work
side-by-side with other professionals such as dentists and orthodontists. The predicted
growth of this career is 38 percent between 2010 and 2020. Finally, the physical
therapists whose job is to help the patients who just recover form illnesses build strength
in a specific area in order to replace the weakness on their body. Their job is forecasted to
rapidly grow for 39 per cent between 2010 and 2020 which is faster than the other
mentioned careers.
Conclusion
This research report aimed to find out the job opportunities in the medical field in
2020. Medical assistant, registered nurse, therapist and dentist hygienist are the top
medical careers that are expected to grow rapidly. There will be plenty of available
positions in those careers. Even though job opportunities in the medical field are
required, the other careers, for example computer technology-related jobs are one of the
best prospects in the future. Consequently, this research report recommends further
research on the top job opportunities in technology-related field in 2020.
