A blustering full-volume alarm awakens my sound sleep.

It is a typical 6 o
clock in the morning. The fresh breeze of sunrise, the homey smell of my
mom's old breakfast, the hangered, ironed uniform, and my rucksack bagI'm feeling it, Im all set for school.
Determined to save a five-peso "padyak" fare, for I'm a little self-proclaimed
cheapskate, I walk to the terminal not far from our house and climb into an
almost vacant jeepney. As usual, the same rule goes, first come first choice
of seat. Today, I start out lucky. I instantly place myself on a familiar spot
where I used to sit. It isn't so long until it is packed with passengers. The
automobile journeys through the road blowing strands of my dark hair as it
run.
While waiting to reach my stop, I naively stare at an opening behind me. My
eyes are drawn to an ordinary city scenariomumbling noise, honking cars,
and rushing people. Everybody is moving their businesses. Theres seems to
be a deep sense of connection and of purpose, I think. Its nothing new
sooner than I come in to this understanding. Except for the first time I see
whats behind this striking concept: a function.
Education and its consequences
Education is never an easy mission. College makes it worse; mentally,
intellectually, and even financially. Hence, it is a straight fact that studying in
a university means a dreadful hole for every parents pocket. A daughter of a
retired policeman and a working government employee, might just be fairly
able to sustain the fretting cost, but who would have had to disagree on this
gratifying opportunity? I shall take this chance. Attaining the grant will
certainly lighten up the load of my hardworking parents. Their dedication to
hand their four children with a promising future is priceless. If not later than
having my career, this time isnt too early to pay off the labor.
Make an impression

At the age of sixteen, it is a beautiful unknown to identify what my role is to

the progressive community. It has always been my goal to be something for
the world. Through the years, business and industry never fail to fascinate
me. Here, I foresee opportunities. I am currently studying Bachelor of Science
in Industrial Engineering to cultivate my craft. Altogether, I strongly believe
that I deserve the scholarship for I possess the ability and the drive to
succeed in this profession. My leadership, interpersonal, and communication
skills are tested over my academic yearsvital qualities which will aid as a
groundwork in this endeavor, boldly defining what truly is my function in this
world.
The swift brake stirs me back to my consciousness. A dirty yellow and
maroon painted gate signals my stop. I arrive, handing in a few coins to an
old lady beside me, I hurriedly jump off the automobile. Looking at my wrist
watch, it is seven thirty, the flag ceremony will begin. I sigh. I walk my way
inside.
