Setting the Phone Display to timeout after 2

minutes

Press home button

Press menu > settings > Display
Uncheck auto rotate button
Press Screen Timeout
Select 2 minutes

Set date and time

Having an accurate date on your phone is important

for quality assurance. That is to know when each
survey started and ended
Enumerators should check date and time before heading out
each day

If you have SIM cards in each phone you should be

able to use the time from the network, otherwise set
manually

Press home button

Press menu > settings > Date & Time
Uncheck automatic
Press Set Date
Press Select Time Zone
Press Set Time

Extending Battery Life

Turn off Wi-Fi and bluetooth

Settings > Wireless and Networks
Unselect Wi-Fi
Unselect Bluetooth

Turn off GSM network

Select Airplane Mode

(1) Travel to first Household

Select the Survey
Answer all the questions
Press Save Data As Complete And Exit

(2) Travel to next Household

Select the Survey
Answer all the questions
And so on..repeat for all households

Send the Data to the

Server

Refresh Also submits completed surveys

Remove an answer

Do a long press on a
question
A popup will be shown
Select Remove Response
Rarely used. Maybe if you
have an optional select_one
question where no selection
has meaning

If the question is in a
repeat group then you
can select Remove Group
Will remove the entire group.
Useful if the user accidentally
selected Add another group

Adding Notes to A Survey

 Press menu then add

comment while completing a
survey
Press the Save Changes
button to save the comment
Comments can also be added
after the survey is complete and
before it is sent to the server
Available with fieldTask version
