The Final Countdown


Soon we will bid farewell to 2013, and what a wonderful, yet challenging year it has
been! I am sure all of you have been working very hard indeed to meet your goals. I urge
you to continue to push for your year-end sales to qualify for the various campaigns and
exceed your sales targets.
For starters, lets take a quick look at the 25th National Sales Convention (NSC) results so
far. As at end October 2013, we have 2,016 qualifiers, and out of this figure, 911
qualified to go for Incentive Trip 1 to Ho Chi Minh, 726 qualified for Incentive Trip 2 to
Korea and 329 qualified for Challenge Trip to Turkey. At the same time, 50 top
producers qualified for the 2013 Special Challenge to Spain and Barcelona. Here, I would
like to extend my heartiest congratulations to all those who qualified for the trips. For the
rest, push yourselves even harder to qualify! Thus, before 2013 comes to an end, do take
the extra effort to make the final push especially for your Private Retirement Scheme
(PRS) and Employees Provident Fund (EPF) sales.
Leverage on PRS and EPF Members Investment Scheme
Furthermore, to add to the attractiveness of Public Mutuals PRS funds, we are offering
free insurance/Takaful coverage for PRS contributors with net asset value (NAV) of
RM5,000 and above effective 1 October 2013. Do pass the good news around and
encourage your investors to contribute more into their PRS accounts to ensure a better
retirement. For those of you who have yet to sign up as PRS consultants, may I urge you
to do so as soon as possible to leverage on this attractive, new market!
Meanwhile, statistics have shown that there are more than 6.3 million active EPF
members as at 31 December 2012 and only around 500,000 members have invested with
us. Even with the revision of the Basic Savings Table, come January 2014, we estimate
there is still a large number of EPF members who are eligible to invest in the EPF
Members Investment Scheme. Hence, I urge all of you to work harder to reach out to
these EPF members.
Recruit to Expand Your Agency
Also, in this final countdown to the New Year, go all out to recruit more new unit trust
consultants (UTCs)! Recruitment is an essential component for the long-term growth of
an agency.
In fact, it is the key ingredient to building a strong agency force and enlarging your
customer base. Having productive and quality new UTCs will help your unit trust
business prosper. Hence, leverage and capitalise on both the New UTC Campaign 2013
and Recruitment Drive 2013 which will end on 26 and 31 December 2013 respectively.

For the Recruitment Drive 2013 which runs from 1 October 2013 to 31 December 2013,
both recruiters and new recruits will receive additional cash rewards. New recruits will be
rewarded with RM50 cash upon passing the computerised unit trust examination (CUTE)
and obtaining the UTC code. Recruiters, meanwhile, will be rewarded with RM50 cash
for every two new recruits who passed CUTE and obtained their UTC codes.
Furthermore, new UTCs who join Public Mutual for the first time in November and
December 2013 will be extended an additional year of lower quota to qualify for NSC
Incentive Trip 1. If they do not qualify for the 25th NSC Incentive Trip 1 in 2013, they
will only need to achieve a minimum of 700,000 Personal Net NSC Points in 2014 for the
26th NSC Incentive Trip 1 when compared to the standard Year 2 qualification
requirement of 800,000 Personal Net NSC Points. If they still cannot qualify for the 26th
NSC Incentive Trip 1 in 2014, they will be given a chance to qualify at 800,000 Personal
Net NSC Points for the 27th NSC Incentive Trip (Year 2015 Campaign) instead of the full
NSC Incentive Trip 1 requirement.
Public Mutual will continue to support all UTCs recruitment efforts through more
campaigns for the coming years, so do capitalise on all the recruitment campaigns to
bring in more new recruits!
Sales Kick-Off (SKO) 2014
As mentioned earlier, we will soon welcome a brand New Year and I believe the
upcoming year promises to be full of opportunities as well as challenges! And what better
way to welcome 2014 than with our annual SKO event. Scheduled to take place at One
World Hotel, Petaling Jaya on 13 December 2013, SKO 2014 will provide you with a
much-needed boost to kick-start your sales with a newfound drive, enthusiasm and spirit!
There will be a special presentation by a renowned motivational speaker, to be followed
by the unveiling of the new destinations for the 26th NSC and the announcement of new
sales and recruitment campaigns for 2014.
Motivational author Brian Tracy once said, Resolve in advance to persist until you
succeed, no matter what the difficulty. With focus and determination, I am certain that
you can push yourself to reach a new high before the sun sets on 2013 and be well ready
to take on the challenges of 2014!
