Instructions for Punjabi University, B. Tech. online form filling

1. All the interested candidates are advised to read carefully the instructions, Seat matrix, fee
structure / refund rules and reserve category certificate formats before registration.
2. The candidate claiming reserved category seat (during registration) will be required to produce
the certificate during counseling / document verification process. The candidates who fail to
produce the mandatory category certificate will forfeit their claim for the said category seat.
Submission of false information / fake certificates will lead to cancellation of candidature /
admission and forfeiting of fee deposited.
3. Please go to the online admission portal of Punjabi University www.pupadmissions.ac.in and
register yourself. To begin the process, click on the Register Now! button.

4. Please read Important Instructions by clicking on the Read Instructions and then click
Register Now to start the process of registration.

5. On next screen enter your particulars. Select the category applicable to you. The fee to be paid
depends on the category selected by the candidate and the category selected at this stage will
automatically appear on the registration page.
Note: The candidate will be asked to select the Punjab state (85% quota) or other state (15%
quota) category in the next stage of the online application.

Note:- Application Processing Fees, once paid is not refundable. No communication in this regard will
be entertained.
6. The candidate paying fee using Internet banking, credit card or Debit Card option can
immediately access the online application form by clicking the Apply button.
7. The candidate, who opted to deposit fee by University Cash Counter Pay in Slip or Bank Payin Slip are required to take print out of the Pay-in-slip and deposit the amount in any branch of
concerned bank / University Cashier. Such candidates will be issued USER ID and Password
(through SMS) only after confirmation of payment by Admission cell. There is no need to send
Pay-in-slip to Admission Cell, however, in case User ID and Password is not received on your
registered mobile no. within 48 hours, send scanned copy of Pay-in-slip through email at
feeslip@pbi.ac.in.

8. The candidate can also fill in online application form by accessing it using LOGIN ID and
PASSWORD generated at time of registration. The responsibility of security of PASSWORD
lies with the candidate only.

9. The online application form includes personal details and the qualifications of the candidate. The
candidate is required to fill the details related to the JEE (Mains) subsequent to declaration of
result by CBSE. Till the time of declaration of the ALL INDIA RANK of the candidate, the
default value 0 will be displayed in the said column. All desiring candidates are advised to
update this column without fail subsequent to declaration of result. No reminder will be
sent for this purpose.

10. Fill the Qualification details i.e. information regarding Matriculation and 12th class.

11. The candidate is advised to fill in the branch preference very carefully. The candidate will
NOT be allowed to change the order of preference selected in this form later on.
12. Personal Details including Name, Date of Birth, Mobile number, fee paid category will be
automatically updated from your Login Id data. However, the candidate has to fill in the other
details such as Gender, Fathers/ Guardians name, Mother Name, in this form.

13. The candidate belonging to NRI / Foreigner category is required to provide his / her passport
details in this application form. The original documents will be verified at the time of counseling.

14. Fill the Address details (Correspondence and Permanent address) along with your Phone /
Mobile number, Email id as shown in the above screenshot. The candidate is advised to provide
the mobile number readily accessible to him / her as any communication / SMS message will be
sent to this registered mobile number only.
15. A candidate belonging to the state of Punjab (85% quota) can claim maximum four
subcategories. Such a candidate will be offered seat available in a branch on the basis of his / her
merit to be determined from the AIR in JEE Mains 2016 in the specific category / subcategory.

16. The merit of Sports Category candidates will be prepared as per Punjabi university rules and
allocation will be done as per the merit prepared by the university sports department.
17. For candidates belonging to the states other than Punjab (15% quota) only SC/ST and BC
categories (refer to seat matrix) are available along with the general category. The category
selected by such candidates at the time of registration will be carried forward to the online
application form.
18. Some additional seats are available under different categories as shown in the seat matrix, such
as, Rural Area (PB 85%), Youth Festivals/ Cultural Activities (PB 85%), Outstanding
Sports person (All India basis), Kashmiri Migrant (All India basis). Candidates must ensure
their eligibility before opting for these category seats. The candidates opting for these categories
will also be eligible for general category seats depending on their merit in JEE (Mains).
19. Some additional information such as participation in NCC / NSS, gap in studies and passing of
Punjabi language is also required to be filled. If applicable, Gap in studies certificate / Affidavit
will required at the time of counseling.

20. Upload Photo and Signatures of the candidate in specific format having file size ~ 20 KB
21. Mark the box at the beginning of the undertaking and then click the Proceed and Save button.
22. Take the print out for your own record as well as bring one copy with you at the time of
counseling / document verification.

23. Any correction in the online application form may be done before the closing date (to be
announced later on) using Edit option. The Edit and Print option (Shown in clause 8) will be
available till the last date of filling the online application form.

Note: Please fill all the columns applicable to you carefully. The candidates must update the
online form by filling their All India Rank in the JEE (Main) 2016 immediately after
declaration of result by CBSE before locking of Editing option on the closing date.
