Mr. Thomas has over four years experience as a Vertical Takeoff Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
(VTUAV) MQ-8 Oversight and system integration team lead, Day Shift Supervisor, Lead
Mechanic, qualified Plane Captain, Ground Maintenance Vehicle Operator and full system
Quality Assurance Representative (QAR). He has completed the Northrop Grumman MQ-8B
Mechanical and Avionics courses. He has administered on the job training and class room
training to over fifty sailors in preparation for the Navy to deploy on four detachments
overseas, in the various VTUAS systems, subsystems and mission kits for the VTUAV. He has
performed in an advisory role providing consultation, analysis, and interpretation of program
specific material, and facilitating the development of improved techniques. He has worked
with Northrop Grumman and other companies in the review of current training course ware
of Fuel system, air frame, power plant, and rotor drive system for the MQ-8B and MQ-8C. He
was the top choice to be the SME in review of course ware material for the improvement of
the MQ-8B and participate as the subject matter expert to analyze lessons learned from the
MQ-8B and how they can be applied to develop a more practical lesson plan for product
course ware to train sailors on the MQ-8C.
EXPERIENCE:
NAVAIR VTUAVProgram Office (PMA-266) PAX River, MD. - 01/14 to present
Leading Petty Officer supervised up to a team of four tasked with developing trained sailors
on the MQ-8B who were capable of being self-sufficient while forward deployed. Stood up
the maintenance detachment in Pt. Mugu. Acting subject matter expert consulting civilian
contractors at program improvements to develop course ware for the MQ-8 program. Tasked
with Auditing four programs and eight monitors at Webster Field providing Government
oversight to the Northrop Grumman contractors. As the MQ-8 Oversight and system
integration team lead for VTUAV Maintenance Detachment Point Mugu providing much
needed knowledge, experience, and direction working hand in hand with Navy and Civilian
Contractor. Responsibilities included but not limited facilitating the development of the
onsite maintainers proficiency, give direction on the establishment of a working oversight
relation between Navy and Contract maintenance, consult and advise superiors in regards to
maintenance for a Fire Scout program. Tasked with Auditing four programs and eight
monitors at Webster Field providing Government oversight to the Northrop Grumman
contractors.
Helicopter Strike Maritime squadron (HSM-46) Mayport, FLA. - 10/12 to 11/13
Stood up a Det in support of flight operations of the coast of Northern Africa. Only
experienced QAR which lead to record flight hours of any detachment for the MQ-8B
program with zero mishaps.
Helicopter Anti Submarine (Light) Squadron (HSL-60) Mayport, FLA. 08/11 to
09/12
Stood up a DET in support of flight operations of the coast of West Africa. Day check
supervisor planning, implementing, and carrying out to completion the daily work load of
fourteen maintainers.

Supported the flight scheduled at VR-1 conducting scheduled and unscheduled inspections
as well as routine maintenance. Manager of programs who maintained and administered six
required programs, tool control, tire and wheel, training, hydraulic contamination, fuel
surveillance, and hazmat control.

Assigned to the logistics department responsible for ordering, transporting, pickup and
delivery of goods in support the Inchcape which delivered vital goods and mail to the oil flats
in Kuwait. Liaison between the Kuwaiti command and control tower at the industrial port of
Ashwaba and the American sensor detachment responsible for the security of the industrial
harbor.
TSM Corporation Andrews Air Force Base, MD. - 07/07 to 08/09
Civilian Contract maintenance working in conjunction with Navy and Marine Corp personnel
in the daily scheduled and unscheduled and routine ground servicing of two Gulf Stream
aircraft at VR-1. Responsibilities included but not limited to Night Check lead mechanic
supervising four technicians maintaining a routine flight schedule.
Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VR-48) Andrews Air Force Base, MD.- 07/01 to
04/12
Maintained 2 Navy Gulfstream G-4 aircraft in support of the JSOC mission. While at VR-48
worked in the Mechanic shop but developed additional skills in the electrical shop and
eventually became qualified in avionics as well later becoming full system QAR. During
these eleven years was able to participate in two detachments in Djibouti and Qatar.
