Task Analysis Kahoot

I chose kahoot an interactive classroom game that can be used as a
formative assessment. This task analysis is in the procedural task analysis
form steps are clear and simple.
1. Open internet browser such as internet explorer, google chrome, or
safari.
2. Type address into browser: https://getkahoot.com/
3. Click on the orange box Sign up for free.
4. Click on drop down menu.
5. Click on Im a teacher.
6. Type in School name.
7. Enter a username, email, and password.
8. Click purple box Create Account.
9. At your personal homepage, click on the purple box New K!

Scroll down and click on purple question mark titled Quiz.

Give your quiz a name and click on Go!

In box for Question 1: Type in question.

Below question box, type in one correct answer and at least one
incorrect answer (up to 3 incorrect answers).

Below the correct answer click on the red box to change to
green correct box.

Each question is set to count for points. To change to no points
click on drop down menu. Click on No points question.

Time limit is automatically set to 20 seconds. To change: click on
Time limit drop down menu and change.

To add a picture drag or drop a picture from desktop or click on
choose a file and then add file.

To add a video click on the blue Video tab located under Question
1. Paste youtube URL into ID box. Set a start and end time for video
or it will automatically set it along with the question time limit (20
seconds).

At the bottom of page click on +Add question box.

You may also duplicate a question you typed in by clicking on
+Duplicate box.

You may delete a question you are in the process of creating by
clicking on Delete question.

When finished entering questions, click on green Save &
Continue box.

To re-arrange the order of questions use the arrows next to the
questions.

To edit any questions click on the white Edit questions box on the
bottom left.

Click on Save & Continue on bottom right.

You may fill in description box or give quiz tags.

Language is set to English, if teaching in a foreign language click
drop down menu and change language.

Quiz is set to private, you may change to public and anyone can
use it.

Click on Primary audience drop down menu. Select your
audience.

Click on Save & Continue on bottom right.

Give you quiz a cover image by dragging or dropping an image,
choosing a file, or embedding a youtube video.

Click on edit, preview, or play.

Open Google Chrome
First you are going to click on the
Google Chrome icon or Internet
Explorer if you prefer that one. If
you have a Mac you can use Safari.
Click URL box
Next click on the URL box at the
top of the screen. The entire line
should automatically highlight.
Type web address
In the URL box you will type the
address for Kahoot which is
www.get kahoot.com and hit the
enter key.
Click on the orange box
You should be on the kahoot home
page. Click the orange box on the
top right that says Sign up for
free.

how to set up a review quiz in
Kahoot.

Click on dropdown menu

Click on the dropdown menu. You


will see several choices. Click on
Im a Teacher.
Next you will type in your school
name in the box provided.
On the next page you will be asked
to enter your email and come up
with a username and password.
Type that information into the
boxes.
After you enter the information
click on the purple box that says
Create account. The following
page is your personal page and
there will be another purple box
that says New K! Click on it to
create a new game.
Scroll down on this page to the
purple question mark that says
Quiz. Click on it. Give your quiz
a name for the subject you are
reviewing and click Go!
Click in the question #1 box and
type in your review question.
Below the question box are boxes
for four answers. Type in one
correct answer and one to three
incorrect answers. For the correct
answer you will click the button
below it to change it from red
incorrect to green correct.
At the top right of the page you
will see a dropdown box titled
points. Kahoot automatically
gives points for each question.
The points are calculated by how
fast the player answers with the
correct answer. To change it to not
calculate any points just click on
the dropdown menu and choose
no points.
The time limit for each question is
set to 20 seconds. To change it
click on the dropdown menu and
pick the time limit you want.

To add a picture drag and drop one


from the desktop to the middle of
the page or click on choose file
and add one. For a video click on
the tap video and you can paste
a YouTube URL into the box. You
can set the start and end time for
the video or it will automatically
play for the whole 20 seconds.
Now that we are done with this
question go to the bottom of the
page and click on the +Add
Question box. If you just want to
duplicate the question you just did,
click on the +Duplicate box and
it will duplicate the question and
answers onto the next page. If
there is something in particular
that the class needs more practice
with that would be beneficial
because they will have to answer it
twice throughout the review. You
may also delete the question you
are currently working on by
clicking on -Delete Question.
Keep adding questions and
answers until you have entered all
of the ones you want for your quiz.
When you are finished entering
them click on the green Save &
Continue button.
On this page you will be asked to
give the quiz a description and you
can add tags if you like.
The quizzes are automatically set
to English. If you happen to be
teaching a foreign language just
click on the dropdown menu that
says language and pick your
language.
Quizzes are set to private which
means only you can access them.
If you want to allow others to
access them, click on the
dropdown menu that says
Private and change it to Public.

Next you have to pick an audience


for your quiz. In your case you will
pick school.
After everything has been set for
the quiz you will click on the Save
& Continue box. Even after you
have clicked this you can always
go back later and edit your quiz.
On this page you can add an
image or video. This image or
video will show at the beginning
while your students are logging in.
You can drag and drop an image,
add a file, or embed a YouTube
video.
On this last page you are given the
option to edit your quiz, preview it,
or play it. If you need to go back
and change something click on
edit it. If you are ready for your
students to play the game click on
play it.
Lets go ahead and click on play
it.
This page will give you the option
of randomizing your questions and
answers. Scroll down and click on
the game options dropdown
menu. It is a good idea to change
them to on. To save time you
may enter your questions and
answers in exact order from your
tests so this will mix them up for
you. Next you will want to display
the game pin for the entire game
so change that to on as well.
Back at the top of the page you
have two options: a classic mode
or team mode. You will choose one
of those depending on if your
students are working
independently or in groups. Click
on the appropriate box.
Click on start. Next the game pin
is displayed. Students will use

their devices and go the website:


www.kahoot.it
After they get to the website they
will be asked to enter the game
pin. Once everyone has entered
the game pin and then their name
you can click on start on your
computer and the game will begin.
