environmental enforcement officer:
To ensure product safety and fitness for consumption
To reduce possible sources of contamination entering
the food environment
Monitor conditions and hygienic operation with the
food environment
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation
To establish the integrity of management and
effectiveness of control procedures
To offer professional advice
To provide education to food handler with respect to
good manufacturing practices.

Functions of the health and


environmental enforcement officer:
Carry out routine visits and inspections of food
premises
Perform bacteriological food sampling
Investigate food poisoning outbreaks and incidents
Investigate food complaints
Lecture on hygiene courses and give brainstorm
sessions
Use media for example press releases, committee
reports and hazard warnings
Deal with planning and licence applications.
