Form
CLAY

I can create a clay

form.

Part 1: Go through the

parameters for working
with clay. How to work
with clay using water to
join pieces. Simpler is
better.
Discuss how to use the
various tools. Design a
simple monster pot.
Part 2: Go through clay techniques to refresh.
Work with the clay to create a sculpture.
Part3: Hand out forms and discuss paint
options. Pupils to paint their pots neatly and
accurately.

Charcoal
Shading

I can create an image

Romero
Britto Hearts

I can create a Romero

Britto inspired heart.

Draw scribble linesnot too small sections.

Fill each section with
tone from light to dark
with charcoal.

Go through some of
Romero Brittos work very
briefly. Discuss the use of
patterns and colours.
Use A3 paper. Fold the
paper into quarters. Draw a diagonal line from
the middle fold at the bottom of the page to
the middle sides. Add the curved tops of the
hearts.
Draw lines with a ruler inside the heart, and
add patterns. Use mixed media to shade and
colour each section. Cut out each heart and
paste together to form the collaborative
piece.
See the ppt.

1.
Draw simple
scribble lines or a line
pattern on an A3 page.
Shade each section with
different tones of colour
using blending and
smudging techniques.

Insist that pupils

draw large
patterns or
scribbles. This will
make shading
easier.

2.
Once pupils have
shown skill with smudging
then demonstrate how
to create a sunset with
chalk pastel (see
