Skills inventory reflection

To find out information regarding my skills inventory, I used Mind Tools
website and the above pictures are the questions I solved and the outcomes I
received.
The outcomes displayed my scores in five skills sections as follow:

Personal Mastery (8 out of 10) 80%

Time Management (18 out of 20) 90%
Communication skills (11 out of 15) 73.33 %
Problem Solving and Decision Making (8 out of 15) 53.33%
Leadership and Management (10 out of 15) 66.66%

Based on the scores I got for each skill, my time management skills are the
highest among all with a percentage of 90%. My second highest skill is
Personal Mastery with the percentage of 80%. After that my communication
skills come in order the third with a percentage of 73.33%. While, my
Leadership and Management skills have a percentage of 66.66% which is not
very high. Finally, my Problem Solving and Decision Making skills have the
least percentage which is 53.33%

I extremely agree that my strongest skill is the time management and I

mentioned this skill in my Curriculum Vitae before having this quiz. This is
because; I am a person who values her time. I believe I effectively prioritize
and schedule my time and I avoid delays of things that need to be done. I
prioritize my tasks by categorizing them into urgent, important, or less
important. At college and at my training, when I got several tasks that need
to be done, I began with finishing urgent tasks that need to be finished
immediately and I used the rest of the time for other tasks in accordance of
their importance.
For Personal Mastery being my second strongest skill, I also agree with this.
To explain I know how to lead myself so I require little direction from my
superiors for getting the work done. I regularly plan and set short term goals
to be achieved and write them down in a paper with wonderful pictures to
motivate myself towards achieving them. I have a long term goal my motto
which is to be a great mother and a great worker.
On the other hand, I do not agree that Problem Solving and Decision Making
is my least scored skill. This is because I am an individual who always seeks
to identify and understand the cause of the problem in order to understand it
fully and solve it. Also, before making a decision, I analyze the choices I have
carefully, and decide the best potential decisions depending on what I know.
All in all, I believe this activity helped me to realize that time management is
my strongest skill and Problem Solving and Decision Making is my weakest
skill that I need to improve, but I do not totally agree with the percentages
since this outcomes based on just 15 questions so I decided to make another
quiz in another website to see other potential outcomes.

The outcomes I got from this website display my scores in five skill sections

Based on the scores I got for each skill, my research and planning, and work
survival skills are the highest among all with the percentage of 92%. My
second strongest skill is communication skill with the percentage of 87%.
After that my organization, management and leadership skills come in order
the third with a percentage of 86%. While, my human relations skill had the
least percentage which is 85% and I believe it is not a low percentage.
Personally, I like this website more than the other because the outcomes
based on answering 6 questions and each question has 10 areas to rank
between 1 and 3. I agree that my strongest skills are research and planning,
and work survival. To illustrate, I like surfing websites and frequently using
my search strategies to get the specific results I desire. A simple example is
when the outcomes of the previous website did not persuade me; I searched
for a better website and end up with this website. In addition, when I have
projects and researches, I like to search more than a website to end up with
the specific knowledge I seek. Also, I am a person who forms a concept or

idea of my future needs and think of best solutions in order to meet those
needs. For example, I thought about my future needs that I cannot graduate
before completing volunteering hours. Then I read about the email about the
need for students to volunteer in 09 Exhibition. Therefore, I decided to
volunteer at 09 Exhibition. However, the first day of the exhibition was the
same day of my friends gathering, so in order to think of the best solution for
this problem I told my friends to delay our gathering and invited them to
volunteer in this exhibition and they were happy with this idea. ,
The same percentage I got for work survival. Before, I did not know the
meaning of this skill, but after taking the quiz I realized what work survival
means, so this quiz helped me to understand myself more. Work survival
means that I have the daily skills which help me to encourage effective
production and work satisfaction. I agree with this as I am a person who has
the ability identify the deeper meaning of what is being said. Also, I have the
ability to contact with people in a deep way so that I can sense their reaction
and desired interaction. Additionally, at college, when I work with any team I
work productively. I promote interaction and demonstrate my presence as a
team member. For instance, at my training, I faced customers who cannot
express their need in an easy way, so my colleagues understood them with
difficulty. However, I was able to understand them as I am a person with the
ability to analyze the words being said and based on their body language.
For communication skill I agree to it being my second strongest skill after
research and planning, and work survival. I see myself good at speaking
properly with a large number of people while, display a variety of vocabulary
and choose professional language in presenting to my audiences, listen
carefully, and show my ideas properly. On the other hand, I need to work
more on preserving good eye contact while presenting as I usually look at
one person when I present.
On the other hand, I agree that my human relations got the least percentage
which is 85%. I am good at interpersonal and team interactions. I try to build
strong one-on-one and team members relationships at college. Also, I am
able to react in a healthy manner with people to build successful
relationships. Moreover, I am able to place myself emotionally to an
individuals condition and show my interest to his problem so as to attract
the attention of people I want to build a relationship with. Whereas, I need to
work more on managing my stress. Although I manage my time when I
experience a stressful situation, I still maintain nervous until I finish the work.

Therefore, I need to work on coping mechanisms and generic calmness

under pressure to assists others stay at peace as well.
All in all, I believe this activity assisted me to truly recognize that research
and planning, and work survival are my strongest skills and I need to develop
my human relations skill. I am happy with the both activities that I did on the
two websites as the two depended on different skill categories. I prefer
University of Minnesota website more that Mind Tools as the outcomes
depended on many answers and I believe the strongest and weakest skills
that the website indicated is almost true.
