The Painted Hands Daycare

Where nurturing a childs imagination begins

INTRODUCTION

Family Involvement Philosophy

At the Painted Hands we encourage family involvement and
expect parents to volunteer their time, donate items for
classroom needs, or help with fundraising and special events
when you can. Recent studies suggest that parent involvement is
critical to the success of children. Family involvement has been
known to give children a sense of pride about their family, and
school. We encourage families to be involved with their childs
development and learning. The Painted Hands offers workshops
and seminars that teach parents about child development,
emergent readers, behaviors, and being an advocate for your
child. We believe in working together as a team with parents. We
strive to establish meaningful, respectful, and reciprocal
relationships with families. It takes a village to raise a child, and
our goal at The Painted Hands is to work together as a team to
ensure the success of each child.

Vision Statement
At The Painted Hands our vision is for children to learn and grow
by giving them new experiences in a safe, fun, and relaxed
environment. Where learning takes place through play and where
quality care and safety is our main focus.

Core Values
Inclusion- We recognize that every child is unique and learns at
their own pace. Differences are welcomed and celebrated at The
Painted Hands.
Diversity- We are respectful of families and welcome all cultures
to attend The Painted Hands.
Teamwork- We believe in a working partnership with families to
ensure the future success of our program.

Program Goals
1. To provide a safe, nurturing, and quality environment. Where
children are free to explore and are encouraged to be
independent and make choices freely.
2. To develop in each child an appreciation for nature and the
outdoor world.
3. To provide an enriched environment where children can
develop cognitive, social/emotional, and physical skills. An
environment that caters to the development of the whole
child through physical play.

Curriculum

At The Painted Hands we use creative curriculum. This curriculum

has been researched and approved by the state. Creative
curriculum is based off of five principles.
They are:
Positive interactions and relationships with adults provide a
critical foundation for successful learning.
Socialemotional competence is a significant factor in school
success.
Constructive, purposeful play supports essential learning.
The physical environment affects the type and quality of
learning interactions.
Teacherfamily partnerships promote development and
learning.

Every child benefits developmentally from using creative

curriculum. Creative curriculum provides children with rich
experiences in which learning occurs.
