System is resources that work together to achieve a purpose

What is information?

Information is the data has been processed to give a meaning

What is data?

Data is raw information, unprocessed and it doesn’t have a meaning

What are the relationship between data, information and knowledge?

Data is needed to gain information

Information is needed to gain knowledge

Knowledge is the information that you use in your daily life

Information processes?

Collecting, organising, analysing, storing, processing, transmitting and displaying

What are the difference between personal and a group information


system?

Personal information system is resources from individual to achieve a goal; it has


one participant for example, word processing, spreadsheet

Group information system is resources from a group of people based on their


discussion, it has heaps of participants and personal has no more than one
participant for example, Local Area Network, EFTPOS system or any point sales
system, Real Estate system and websites

Copyright, security, privacy, health and safety (ergonomics), and accuracy of the
data

What is the collecting process?

Collecting is the information process that gathers data from environment. It


includes there things, they are knowing what data is required form where it will
come, how it will be gathered

Hardware: scanners, keyboard, cameras, mouse, smartboard  input devices
