    Better  known  as  simply  Shirkoo,   BAHA’I  COMMUNITY  IN  IRAN  
 
Organisers:   he  is  one  of  21  Kurdish  prisoners   Known  as  ‘yaran’  or  ‘friends’,  they  
of  conscience  sentenced  to  death   have  been  held  in  the  Evin  prison  for  
 Asian  Centre  for  Human  Rights   in  Iran.     more  than  two  years.  The  4th  session  
 Indian  Baha’i  Community     of  their  trial  is  on  12th  June.  They  are  
 People’s  Watch   held  solely  for  their  religious  beliefs  
 Women’s  Coalition  for  Peace   with  no  evidence  against  them.  They  
and  Development  with  Dignity   have  spent  significant  periods  of  
  imprisonment  in  solitary  confinement.
