Findings:
1. Unable to perform right-click functions at CTXMECD1023 – to view Task Manager,
Computer Management.
2. Network connection for Public and Heartbeat is connected / enabled.
Attempted solution(s):
1. Reboot CTXMECD1023 and re-test failover
Results:
1. After reboot, CTXMECD1023 appears online again from Cluster Admin.
2. Able to perform failover, however, SQL Server and SQL Server Agent services failed to
start.

Current Troubleshooting Status:
Summary:
Microsoft Tech Support requires at least SQL2005 SP1 to provide
support.
Had performed SP1 installation – failed during Database Engine
updates
However, after rebooting both nodes, SQL Server and SQL Server
Agent services were able to start
Performed 7x failover to test – all successful.
Changed Support Case to Troubleshooting SQL2005 SP1
installation - ongoing
Veritas Netbackup issue:
Findings:
1. From NBUSPPPUA event viewer, TLD errors were found.
2. Tape drives seen with (!) status from tape library’s LCD console.
3. At Master Server’s (CTXMECD1016) Netbackup Admin Console, Activity Monitor appeared
‘hang’ – many queued jobs
4. NBUSPPPUA unable to backup – no drives were detected
Attempted solution(s):
1. Reboot tape library
2. Reboot CTXMECD1016
3. Re-detect STUs for all media servers
4. Since NBUSPPPUA still failed to detect drives, reboot the nodes again.
5. Re-detect NBUSPPPUA’s STU and perform test backups.
Results:
1. NBUSPPPUA nodes able to detect drives after reboot.
2. Success in configuring NBUSPPPUA STU
3. Test backups - successful
4. Actual backups (current policies) - successful
