Phoenix Rod & Gun Club

500 Yard Prone Match

June 21, 2008
It was certainly hot at South Mountain today, befitting the first official day of summer.
Temperatures under the roof were in excess of 100 degrees and our high today will be 115
degrees. The competition is getting hotter too as the scores will show. Doug Popadince, now in
his third match in as many weeks doubled last week's score and shot from a sling with no coat -
maybe he's the smart one given the heat! Nia Pinnow, a sharp shooting Junior came and shot
with us as she continues her Camp Perry preparation. Mark and Steve tussled for the F-Class
win with Mark coming out on top shooting his .308 with 190 Sierras. Tubeguns were well in
evidence and I think we may have one or two more on the line very soon. There's a lot to be said
for a match rifle that doesn't take a year to have built!

See you all next week at Rio Salado.
