C Contain - reduce the spread of fire and smoke by closing all doors
and windows.
EE Extinguish- react smoothly and quickly by using the closest proper
extinguisher, but only if safe to do so. There are four basic types of fire
extinguishers
Type A is used for general type fires (trash, wood, paper)
‘Type B is used for flammable liquids and grease fires
Type C is used for electrical fires
“ABC fire extinguishers can be used for all types of fires.

There are many things that we can do to reduce electrical hazards:
4. Inspect ail equipment before putting fin use. Check for loose plugs, frayed
cords, cracked equipment, broken wires and malfunctions,

for cracks; loose pieces, etc, Tag all broken equipment and notify Clinical
Engineering (Biomed). When you tag an item describe what is wrong if you
know.

electricity and you could get shocked.
