What  is  LKTransfer  for  iPhone?

LKTransfer  for  iPhone  is  ELLKAY’s  iPhone  application  that  allows  subscribed  users  to  access  their  LKTransfer
Dashboard  (also  available  via  a  browser,  usually,  at  LKTransfer.com),  and  its  inquiry  functions  using  Apple’s  iPhone
mobile  device.  It  allows  a  subscriber  to  monitor  LKTransfer  accounts  and  the  status  of  transferred  files  remotely
on-‐the-‐go.

Jump  to  one  of  the  How  to…?  topics  to  acquaint  yourself  with  what  you  can  do  using  this  application.

Jump  to  a  specific  screen  in  the  table  under  Screen  Flow  to  acquaint  yourself  with  what  you  can  do  using  this
screen.  Each  line  in  this  table  is  a  conversational  use  case  that  describes  what  options  are  available  to  the  user  on
that  screen,  what  data  the  user  can  enter,  what  navigation  path  the  user  can  take,  and  how  the  iPhone  responds
to  the  user’s  action.

How  to…?

Get  Started
You  may  be  reading  this  on  someone  else’s  iPhone,  and  wonder  how  you  can  get  this  FREE  application  for  your
own,  so  you  can  monitor  your  own  accounts  on-‐the-‐go.

Just  go  to  http://www.ELLKAY.com,  and  download  LKTransfer  for  iPhone.

If  you  have  an  LKTransfer  account  with  ELLKAY,  you  are  ready  to  go  -‐  use  your  LKTransfer  Username  and  Password
to  login  to  LKTransfer  for  iPhone.

If  not,  call  ELLKAY  @  201-‐791-‐0606  to  open  an  LKTransfer  account.

Open  the  LKTransfer  for  iPhone  application  and  enter  your  Username  and  Password  to  login.

You  may  ask  your  iPhone  to  remember  your  User  Name,  so  you  do  not  have  to  re-‐type  it  on  subsequent  visits;  it
will  be  displayed,  and  all  you’ll  have  to  do  is  enter  your  password.

Set  your  iPhone  to  remember  your  Username  (see  below)  BEFORE  you  tap  Login.  Your  iPhone  will  remember  it
only  on  successful  authentication.  Your  Password  is  never  remembered  on  your  iPhone,  so  you  can  rest  assure  no
one  can  enter  your  LKTransfer  account  in  case  your  iPhone  is  lost  or  stolen.

Remember  Username
The  Remember  Username  switch  is  underneath  the  Login  keyboard;  tap  Done  to  minimize  the  keyboard.

The  Remember  Username  defaults  to  OFF  –  not  remembering.

Tap  the  ON/OFF  switch  once  to  turn  it  ON,  if  you  want  iPhone  to  remember  your  Username  on  successful  Login.

If  you  already  entered  your  Username  and  Password,  tap  Login,  and  iPhone  will  remember  your  Username
when  you  open  LKTransfer  again.

If  you  still  need  to  enter  your  Username  and/or  your  Password,  tap  any  of  the  two  fields  to  display  the
keyboard,  and  enter  their  values.

Read  About  the  Product

The  About  icon  (‘i’)  is  underneath  the  Login  keyboard;  tap  Done  to  minimize  the  keyboard  and  find  the  icon  in
the  bottom  right  corner.

Tap  the  About  icon  to  display  a  screen  with  product  and  ELLKAY  contact  information.  Tap  Back  to  return  to  the
Login  screen;  all  you  entered  before  in  the  Username  and  Password  fields  is  there,  no  need  to  re-‐type  it.

Learn  about  Dashboard  vs.  Favorites

1. On  successful  Login,  the  Dashboard  is  displayed  as  the  default  Start  (Home)  page.  The  Dashboard  lists  up  to
25  accounts,  one  line  per  account.  These  are  active  accounts  that  had  file  transmissions  today,  the  default
period  of  activity  displayed  on  the  Dashboard.
2. Favorites  display  a  list  of  favorite  accounts.  You  can  add  any  account  to  your  Favorites,  or  remove  it  from
your  Favorites.  The  list  of  Favorites  displays  up  to  25  accounts,  one  line  per  account,  whether  or  not  there
was  activity  for  the  account  in  the  default  period  –  today.
3. Both  the  Dashboard  and  Favorites  may  display  more  than  25  accounts.  To  view  not  visible  accounts,  scroll
down  to  the  bottom  of  the  list  and  tap  Show  25  More....
4. Both  the  Dashboard  and  Favorites  display  for  each  account  line  the  account  name,  account  number,
account  type,  system  name,  and  the  number  of  files  in  several  in-‐transit  statuses.
5. At  any  time,  you  may  change  the  default  Start  (Home)  page  from  Dashboard  to  Favorites (and  back)  by
going  to  the  LKTransfer  Options  screen,  which  you  access  from  the  iPhone  Settings.
6. At  any  time,  you  may  change  the  Dashboard  default  period  of  activity  by  going  to  the  LKTransfer  Options
screen.  The  default  period  can  be  specified  by  selecting  periods  from  a  list  (Today,  Yesterday,  This  Week,
This  Month,  etc.),  specifying  a  From-‐To  range  of  dates,  or,  alternatively,  specifying  the  Last  ‘X’  Hours  of
activity  (in  which  case,  any  other  period  is  ignored).
7. At  any  time,  you  may  change  the  User  Experience  by  going  to  the  LKTransfer  Options  screen.  User
Experience  allows  you  to  select  a  Basic  or  Advanced  view  on  the  Dashboard  or  the  Results  screen.  Favorites
always  displays  the  Advanced  view.
8. Note  that  these  settings  remain  in  effect  until  you  change  them;  therefore,  if  you  selected  to  see  on  your
Dashboard  only,  say,  the  last  2  hours  of  activity,  don’t  be  surprised  if  you  don’t  see  anything  on  the
Dashboard  the  next  morning.

Find  an  Account  of  Interest

There  are  three  default  account  lists  from  which  you  can  select  an  account  of  interest:  Dashboard,  Saved  Search,
and  Favorites.

1. Dashboard  list  of  accounts  is  altered  only  from  the  LKTransfer  Options  screen,  which  you  invoke  from  the
iPhone  Settings.  Dashboard  defaults  include  activity  period,  and  account  population  (e.g.,  all  accounts
whose  name  begins  with  ‘ABC’).

2. Saved  Search  list  of  accounts  is  altered  each  time  you  tap  the  Search  button  on  the  Search  screen,  while  the
SAVE  THIS  SEARCH  switch  is  ON.
3. Favorite  accounts  are  added  from  the  Account  Details  screen,  and  edited  or  deleted  from  the  Favorites
screen.

On  the  Dashboard
1. Scroll  through  the  list  of  accounts.
2. If  you  can’t  find  the  account  of  interest,  you  may  Show  25  More  accounts  and  scroll  through  the  extended
list  –  repeat  adding  until  you  find  the  account,  or  the  entire  Dashboard  list  is  displayed.
3. Instead  of  scrolling  through  an  increasingly  longer  list,  you  can  type  the  first  few  characters  of  account
name  or  number,  and  tap  Search.  All  accounts  whose  name  or  number  match  the  search  string  will  be
displayed,  regardless  of  whether  or  not  they  were  active  –  see  By  Searching  below  for  an  extended  Search.

In  Favorites
1. Scroll  through  the  list  of  accounts.
2. If  you  can’t  find  the  account  of  interest,  you  may  Show  25  More  accounts  and  scroll  through  the  extended
list  –  repeat  adding  until  you  find  the  account,  or  the  entire  Favorites  list  is  displayed.

By  Searching
1. You  can  find  accounts  of  interest  by  specifying  their  activity  period  and  their  account  name  or  number
(similarly  to  the  Dashboard  search).
2. If  the  Results  list  is  longer  than  25  accounts,  you  may  Show  25  More  accounts  and  scroll  through  the
extended  list  –  repeat  adding  until  you  find  the  account,  or  the  entire  Results  list  is  displayed.

Read  Account  Information

The  Dashboard  and  Favorites  display  a  list  of  up  to  25  visible  and  scrollable  accounts.  If  the  list  includes  more  than
25  accounts,  scroll  down  to  the  bottom  of  the  list,  and  tap  Show  25  More…  to  add  the  next  25  accounts  to  the
scrollable  list.  Keep  adding  to  the  list  until  Show  25  More…  is  no  longer  displayed.

Each  account  in  the  list  displays  the  account  name,  account  type,  account  number,  system  name,  and  four  file
counts  associated  with  each  file’s  in-‐transit  status.

Identify  Account  Types

Currently,  there  are  three  account  types:

− Orders  (O)
− Results  (R)
− Demographics  (D)

However,  additional  types  may  be  added,  customized  to  your  needs.

Identify  In-‐Transit  Statuses

There  are  five  statuses  that  reflect  the  in-‐transit  stage  of  a  file:

− Available  –  means  that  the  file  is  available  for  being  picked  up  by  LKTransfer,

User Help Guide

− Pending  –  means  that  a  file  in  LKTransfer  is  pending  delivery  to  its  destination,
− Delivered  –  means  that  LKTransfer  delivered  the  file  to  its  destination,
− Unprocessed  –  means  that  LKTransfer  has  not  processed  nor  delivered  the  file  to  its  destination,
− Errors  –  means  that  LKTransfer  found  errors  while  processing  the  file;  the  file  is  not  delivered  to  its
destination.

Distinguish  Basic  from  Advanced  Views

There  are  two  views  (aka  User  Experience)  you  can  select  from,  Basic  and  Advanced.  A  selected  view  is
displayed  on  the  Dashboard  and  on  the  search  Results  screens.

The  Advanced  User  Experience  is  preset  by  default.  This  view  presents  the  number  of  files  for  all  In-‐Transit
statuses  (Available,  Pending,  Delivered,  Unprocessed,  and  Errors).

The  Basic  User  Experience  view  presents  the  number  of  files  for  a  subset  of  In-‐Transit  statuses  (Pending,
Delivered,  and  Errors).

Note  that  Favorites  always  present  the  Advanced  view,  regardless  of  which  view  is  selected  for  the  Dashboard
and  Results.

View  In-‐Transit  List  of  Files

The  number  of  files  in  each  In-‐Transit  status  is  displayed  on  the  Account  Details  screen.  Tap  an  In-‐Transit  status
line,  and  you’ll  see  the  list  of  file  names  with  the  time  each  file  was  received  and  delivered.

View  the  Content  of  a  File

A  transferred  file  may  be  in  different  formats  (text,  HL7,  PDF),  and,  in  many  cases,  LKTransfer  transforms  the
file.  This  means  that  the  delivered  file’s  content  may  be  formatted  differently  than  the  original;  nevertheless,
retaining  the  original  information  meaning.  Original  picked  up  data  may  differ  from  delivered  data  due  to  on-‐
route  data  conversion.

When  you  open  a  file,  you  can  view  its  Original  Data  content,  its  Delivered  Data  content,  and  a  Debug  Log  that
shows  transfer  and  conversion  information  that  occurred  from  Original  Data  file  to  Delivered  Data  file  (if  any).

Screen  Flow

A  user  opens  the  LKTransfer  Mobile  application  by  tapping  the  LKTransfer  icon  from  the  iPhone  applications
screen.

LKTransfer  displays  the  Login  screen.

The  following  screens  constitute  the  LKTransfer  Mobile  iPhone  application:
