This multiplication method is very powerful, can be done mentally with minimal

writing during calculation. If mastered, it can save a lot of time & only increases
one’s ability & endurance to calculate quickly:

Multiplication :

Step 1:

42 (Multiply along arrow side, carry 4 as shown)

Step 2:

3 7

5042 (Again, Multiply along arrow side, we get: 18+28+4(carry)=50, write “0”, carry 5)

Step 3:

3 7

4 6

17 5042 = 1702 (Multiply along arrow side, 12+5(carry)=17, so we get our answer)

All these step has to be done in one step during calculation. So Solely on the basis
of one’s mental ability to play with numbers one can save a lot of time.
