1) Results of last week:

-Got recognized by Skule
- RCSA willing to help promote event through mailing list
- talked to VP student life, skule – interested in collaborating to organize Web Startup
Expo
- talked to Ronald Baecker – interested in helping out, but needs a detailed letter on
how our club would benefit CS students, should differentiate our club better. What
does our club really do? Probably not a good idea to spread ourselves too thin. The
club should make it’s description/goals/plans more clearer and more distinct and
differentiated from the other clubs for him to be able to explain it to the department
better.
- booked BA 1st floor open space for nov 19 (11:30am – 7pm) to promote speaker
event and recruit members
- chatroll.com (founders previously worked at Amazon) going to share their
experience in their startup
- website getting better but not yet uploaded

2) Speaker event
Promotion
- write on blackboard of computer labs + windows of some rooms
- colored flyers around Sanford Fleming + Galbraith + BA
- make a forum post on CDF
- email Jim Clarke ask for favour to spread the word about the event
- email ECE department head to spread the word about the event
- RCSA mass email
- skule mass email
- CSSU mass email

Refreshments
- needs free pizza + water
-alternative 1: ask CSSU to provide it
-alt 2: ask CS dept/ECE dept/KMDI dept
-alt 3: apply skule funding
-alt 4: apply UTSU short term funding(most likely would be reimbursement)

Camera
-bring camera to the event in order for publicity purposes

3) UofT Startup Index

- create a startup index on WSS website (websites created by UofT students + alumni
+ industry)
- has to make the WSS website good looking first before embarking on this.
