NATIONAL NIGHT OUT Kickoff Event at Target

Come join us this Saturday, September 25, 2010, for the NATIONAL NIGHT OUT kickoff
event. This event will take place in the parking lot of Target, located at the corner of
Briarcrest Drive and Earl Rudder Freeway. Activities will start at 9:00 AM and end at 1:00
PM.

The Bryan Police Department and the College Station Police Department, along with the
Texas A&M University Police Department and the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office will be
joined by local fire departments and other organizations at this annual kickoff event. The
kickoff is held in preparation for the actual NATIONAL NIGHT OUT event that will occur on
Tuesday, October 5th, 2010 and will provide citizens with an opportunity to sign up for
their own neighborhood block party.

There will be plenty of fun and interesting activities at this family event. If you join us you
will find:

-Vehicle displays from police, fire, PHI emergency helicopter service and BTU
-A child safety seat check point brought to you by TAMU AgriLIFE
-Fingerprinting for child identification
-A smoke and safety demonstration trailer courtesy of our local fire departments
-The Texas A&M University Police Department roll-over car
-Texas State Fire Marshall K-9 and Bryan PD K-9 demonstration
-Ka-boom, the Bombshells and the Brazos Valley Bombers
-Food, drinks, and much more…

The goal of NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is to heighten awareness for crime prevention and drug
prevention, to generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs,
strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and to send a message
to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The safety of our community does not have borders. It is the goal of every law enforcement
agency to protect the citizens that we serve. Be the eyes and ears of your police
department. When you see suspicious activity contact the College Station Police
Department at 979-764-3600, the Texas A&M University Police Department at 979-845-
2345, or the Bryan Police Department and the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office at 979-361-
3888. Together we can make a difference in our community.
