BHMS – Sample Speech Outline

There are several different types of speech outlines commonly used by speakers. All of
them however, have the same simple structure. Opening, body and conclusion.
The mains points of speeches vary according to the speech length and can be modified
as needed.

Below is a sample outline for a speech with 3 main points.

A. Opening
1. Capture the Audiences attention
2. Leads into speech topic.

B. Body
1. First point
a. Statement of fact
b. Supporting material
2. Second point
a. Statement of fact
b. Supporting material
3. Third point
a. Statement of fact
b. Supporting material

C. Conclusion
1. Review or summary.
2. Call to action or memorable statement.
