This section documents calculations of the electron vacancy sigma control factor for
PWA 658, PWA 1422, PWA 1451, PWA 1456 and similar specifications.
3. DEFINITIONS:
None.
4. PROCEDURE:
4.1.1 Set up a blank 7 x 18 matrix similar to Table I for performing calculations. List
elements in the order shown in Table I.
For calculation of NV3B for PWA 1422 use the larger of the two airfoil readings
for hafnium value in this calculation.
4.1.3 Add elements of column A (weight percents) and subtract from 100 to obtain
weight percent Ni.
4.1.6 Individually divide the elements of column A by the elements of column B to form
column C.
4.1.8 Individually multiply the elements of column C by 100 and divide by the sum of
the elements of column C to form column O. Sum of 0 should be 100.
4.1.9 Multiply 01 by .97 and subtract the quantity [(.375)(06) + (1.75)(08)]. Enter
results in E1.
{ (.167) }
~.75) (D6» + (03 0142J
(08)+ (03)."l
Enter results in E3.
4.1.11 Add [(.525)(06)] to 019. Subtract from this the following quantity:
4.1.12 Enter zero in E2, E4, E6, E8, E15, E16, and E17.
4.1.14 Enter the same figure from 05, 07, 09, 010, 011, 012 and 018 in corresponding
rows of column E.
L
~67) (03 01~
(08) + (014U
Enter results in E14.
4.1.17 Individually multiply the elements of column E by 100 and divide the sum of the
elements of column E to form column F.
4.1.18 Multiply (F1) by 4.66 and enter product in (G1)
(F3) by 4.66 (G3)
(F5) by 1.71 (G5)
(F7) by 6.66 (G7)
(F9) by 6.66 (G9)
(F10) by 3.66 (G10)
(F11) by 2.66 (G11)
(F12) by 0.00 (G12)
(F13) by 5.66 (G13)
(F14) by 4.66 (G14)
(F18) by 4.66 (G18)
(F19) by 0.61 (G19)
4.1.19 NV38 = Sum of elements of column G , rounded off to nearest .01 unit.
