THE GANDHIAN ERA------The speech by

Gandhi ji on the eve of Dandi march

ON the eve of the birth day of the father of our nation ;India,
epitome of love, devotion truth and honesty, mahatma
GANDHI<the great soulful> I am going to quote some lines of
the speech spoken by him on the eve of Dandi march, at the
evening of prayer held on the sands of sabarmati<Gujarat,
INDIA>Dandi march was organized by Gandhi ji to break the
salt law imposed by the British authorities during their rule in
India under which the Indians were not allowed to manufacture
salt themselves and were forced to buy the salt sold by the British
authorities at very high prices and other misrules of the British.
The speech by GANDHI JI follows----
“Possibly these may be the last lines of my life. This is my
hope and prayer that no one commits any wrong in
anger. I wish these words of mine to reach every nook
and corner this land. My task shall be done if I perish. It
will be for the working committee of the congress to show
you the way it and it will be up to you to follow its lead. As
soon I am arrested, the civil disobedience of law should
be started. The salt law can be violated in three ways—
1. By manufacturing the salt
2. By possessing and selling the contraband salt
3. To carry away the natural salt deposits to the sea
shore
You may choose any one of them or all of
the above devices to break the salt law.
Our ranks swell and our hearts
strengthen as the number of our arrests by the
GOVERNMENT increases. Let all those who are co-
operating with the government by paying taxes, keeping
the titles or by sending the children to the official schools
should withdraw their co-operation from the government.
IT is my wish that women should stand shoulder to
shoulder with the men in this struggle.

I shall eagerly await the news that ten

batches are ready as soon as my batch is arrested. I
believe that there are great freedom fighters in India to do
the work.
A SATYAGRAHI WHETHER FREE
INCARCENATED IS ALWAYS VICTORIES. god bless
you all and keep away all the obstacles away from your
path that begins tomorrow
Namaste!”—M.K GANDHI
It is the history that Gandhi ji
followed.24 members of his ashram started the 24 day
march on 12 th march 1930.he covered 241 miles on foot
and broke the oppressive salt law on april, 6,1930 by
picking up a lump of salt from the beach. he was arrested
by the british government on may 4th,1930 and put in
yerwada jail within few weeks I lakh men and women
were in jail this was the charisma of the father of our
nation ,Mahatma Gandhi. So let on his birthday we all
pledge to achieve every thing by non-violence and be his
satyagrahi’s <soldiers of truth>.
