Methods of Research

This research is a descriptive study of managerial functions of planning,

organizing, staffing, leading and controlling.

A descriptive study describes and interprets what is. It is concerned with

conditions or relationship that exist, opinions that are held, processes that are on going,

effects that are evident or trends that are developing. It is primarily concerned with the

present, although it often considers past events and influences as they relate to the current

conditions. (Best and Khan, 1989).

Techniques of Data Gathering and Instruments Used

This study utilized the following techniques in data gathering: self-administered

questionnaire and interview guide. For the self-administered questionnaire, the

respondent was asked to accomplished Management Excellence survey. To further

enhance the data gathered from the survey, an interview guide was used during the face

to face interview with the respondent.

Data Analysis

This study generated information that requires quantitative and qualitative

techniques in analyzing the data. Descriptive statistics such as frequency and means are

to be used to analyze the findings of this study.

To analyze the data gathered from the face-to-face interview, content analysis will

be used to analyze qualitative data.
