Everyone can get sick, a Muslim as well as a non believer.

In the same way a Muslim is saddened

and a non believer is also perturbed. Both a Muslim and non believer have ups and downs in life.
They equally face numerous problems. Now the point which should be pondered over gravely is
whether our approach to redress these grievances is like a Momin or a non believer. A Muslim
adopts all means in his control to come over these difficulties. Now what are these means?

The Reality of Tawakkal (Reliance on Allah )

Once a Sahabi said to Rasool Allah “O Rasool Allah ! When I go to a forest to let my
camel graze over there and the time comes for Salah, tell me what to do? Whether I leave my
camel on tawakkal (reliance of Allah ) or should I tie it.” On hearing this Rasool Allah
replied, “First tie up the camel then rely on Allah .” What does this mean? It means that you
have done what was in your power, you tied up the camel, and you have taken the step in your
means towards tawakkal. So now you give your full attention to salah. After taking this step, if the
rope with which you tied the camel breaks, it will be in the tawakkal of Allah . Muhaditheen
(Scholars of Hadith) have written that Insha'Allah with the blessings of this salah, Allah will
strengthen the rope. Difficulties are faced by Muslims as well as non Muslims. The question is
where does a Momin’s vision lead him to? and towards whom does a non Muslim turn?

Easy Wilayat (Becoming a friend of Allah )

Once a person came to a pious man close to Allah and said to him, I want to get the position of
wilayat (become a friend of Allah ). I have heard that you have very easy ways leading to
obtain wilayat. The pious man replied, yes you are right; I do have the easiest ways of getting
wilayat. All you have to do is that whenever you have any need, whenever you are in misery,
whenever you are hurt, whenever you need anything, you can or cannot tell these needs of yours
to anyone, first and foremost tell Allah about them. Put all your requirements in front of Him.
Firstly turn to Him. You have lavish food before you, all the refreshments and cool water is in your
reach. Your necessities will be fulfilled if you even raise your eyes. So why do you have to ask
Allah for these needs? They are within your reach. This is a test for you. A person who has
everything, who has abundance, who has bounties, the test is for him. Inspite of this affluence did
you behold the countenance of Allah ? O Allah! This food can not satisfy my hunger, O Allah!
This water cannot quench my thirst, because You have given me these bounties. If it is Your will
they will become disease in a second, they will become means of hardships for me. So O Allah!
Make these bounties a means of comfort for me. So when we turn towards Allah and look up
to Him only then will these bounties benefit us. Only then will these blessings become a source of
respite for us.

2
Allah’s will prevails
If some difficulty comes our way and we put all efforts knowing that it is Sunnah to take measures
within our means to overcome that difficulty, this is correct, but our eyes should be on Allah
as He alone is the Musabbib ul Asbab (Causer of Causes). For if we only depend on our efforts
then there is no difference between a Momin's way of thinking and a non Muslims way of
thinking. The one who is a Muslim, what is the benefit of his Imaan (belief) and Islam then?

Let us consider a case. Suppose that I have a booking on a train, I have purchased the ticket, I have
reached the station and even got the boarding pass. The arrival and departure of the train has
been announced, even then I should not have the certainty on my ticket, for this ticket cannot
make me reach my destination for this ticket is a means. It is the Creator of all means by whose
will I can reach the end of my journey.

Nothing happens by chance

Today let me tell you a word which everyone should memorize. It was given to me by my mentor
and I am teaching it to you. Remember that neither does anything happen accidentally,
incidentally or by chance nor does anything happen out of the blue. No my friends, there is Allah's
Command behind it. All the physical sciences of the world tire out saving the kingdoms and
wealth then they say that incidentally or suddenly earthquakes happened, floods arrived, tsunamis
occurred, sand storms came and all this caused great damages to cities and towns, infrastructures
collapsed, electricity failed, high-rise buildings crumbled, humans drowned. All this did not
happen by chance. Neither can a leaf shift its place nor can an atom change its sphere by chance.
Nothing happens incidentally. In all matters there is Allah's command.
It is because of His command that things happen. So if my wishes are granted, my works are done
thanks to Allah , if not then say O Allah! I plead to You; do this or that for me. If some work of
mine is completed according to my wishes it is not the result of my hard work, it is Allah’s
excellence by virtue of which the result came in my favor. This thought, this inclination towards
Allah is also a means of getting closeness to Him. This is wilayat that one turns towards Allah
on each and every matter.

Who is a wali (Allah’s friend?)

Who is a wali? (Allah’s friend) A wali is one who looks up to Allah his friend every
second. If he errs by mistake he immediately starts appeasing his friend, Allah . So this is a
wali, who directs all his necessities towards Allah and says O Allah! I will obey all your orders;
in return you will appease me by fulfilling my needs. O Allah! I will always remember you. So this
is a wali, remembering Allah with every breath. Why are we asked to recite waza’if (pl. of
wazifa) every second, every minute? It is because whoever remembers Allah , Allah
remembers him and when Allah remembers anyone abundance comes his way both in this
world and the Hereafter. In the same manner whoever is forgotten by Allah is defamed and
insulted in this world and the Hereafter, he is wiped out from the face of the earth, no trace of him

3
is left behind. On the other hand whoever is remembered by Allah becomes evergreen. So
remember Allah and He will remember you. How unthoughtful are we when some misfortune
comes our way, we turn to Allah with all our might and as soon as the misery ends we also
turn back. Allah is the most Merciful. A wali says that if Allah the most Merciful had not
brought me to Him tied up in the ropes of miseries and mishaps, I would never have had the hope
of getting His rewards of heaven and forgiveness. It is because I had never made any plan of
seeking Allah’s pleasures. It was never my intention to please Allah . On the other hand, I
had made the program of striding high in the world by halal means or haram. This was my
intention but my Allah The Most Merciful tied me up in the ropes of miseries, distresses and
hardships and when I became helpless I cried out Ya Arham Ar-Rahimeen (The Most Merciful),
on hearing this cry of mine my Merciful Allah did not even reproach me instead a voice
answered from the skies Labayk Ya Abdi ( I am present my servant). No taunting, no reproaching.
Just I am here my faithful, I am here.

As I said earlier in my Dars (sermon) nothing happens by chance. It is divinely ordained so that
we look up to the One who ordained and that is Allah

Achieving wilayat through worships

Now my friends let me tell you that how we can get wilayat through our worships, our ablutions
(Wudhu) and also through dhikr. As today I am going to tell you the ways of getting wilayat.

The heavenly wudhu

Today I will let you know about a wudhu which is a heavenly wudhu. You should do this wudhu
today and I am sure that you will forget all the wudhu’s you have done till today. We all start our
wudhu with Bismillah wal Hamdulillah. So from today start the wudhu with these words and as
you wash your hands reflect in your mind that the hands which I have washed have got rid of all
the sins and wrong doings. In the same manner keep this reflection as you gargle, put water in
your nose, wash your face, your arms, do the masah (wetting your head, ears and the back of your
neck with wet hand) and finally wash your feet, step by step. Next step by step think and visualize
that my hands that I am washing are being cleaned from all sins committed through them. All the
sins and blemishes have been washed away. After this comes the rinsing of the mouth. In doing
this, visualize once again that all the filth, vices and sins of my mouth have been washed away.
Carry on with your wudhu washing your face, arms, doing masah and finally washing your feet.
Also keep on praying to Allah that all these body parts of yours thus purified remain ever
pure.

While washing your face you should specially pray to Allah saying O Allah! My face has
blackened because of my sins, I may be fair in complexion but those with insight can see the
darkness inside me. O Allah! Please save my face from fever getting darkened by my disobedience
to you. O Allah! Very few people will have sparkling white faces on the day of Judgement. The
majority will have dark black faces.

4
While doing your wudhu you can make one more intention that O Allah! On the day of
Judgement, the Ummah of Rasool Allah will be recognized by the brilliance of the body parts
cleansed by wudhu. So the hands will also shine the arms, the face and the feet also. O Allah!
make all my parts shine on that day.

When you have completed your wudhu you should once again pray that O Allah! Now that I have
washed away all my sins, my blemishes and my impurities, save me from wandering towards evil
and sin. These feet of mine should only take me towards getting your love and the love of Rasool
Allah . Make an effort, do this wudhu and see for yourself the difference between this wudhu
and your previous wudhu. This is a wudhu of meditation. This is a wudhu in which your being is
inclining towards Allah . You yourself will feel a change in the quality of your work. You will
be dumbstruck. The salah offered with this will have a noor (light), bounties will shower down on
you, your missions will accomplish and you will get peace and serenity in this world. This salah
will strengthen your bond with Allah . When the wudhu will be done thoughtfully, the salah
will also be offered thoughtfully. A thoughtless wudhu will result in a thoughtless salah. With the
blessings of this wudhu, the salah will bring you closer to Allah and closeness to Allah is
always helpful in removing miseries.

An example is of people who are close to the kings and the heads of state; they have their
problems solved and their mishaps remedied very quickly. So we come to the conclusion that the
beginning, the opening and the first and initial step toward salah is wudhu. If we keep on doing
this wudhu a time will come when Allah will say that you were thoughtful in doing the
wudhu, now I will please you according to your wishes, according to your fancy.

Sometimes Allah shows those closer to Him the sins and impurities being washed away in
wudhu water. Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) and other friends of Allah could actually see the sins
being washed away from the person as he washed his hands, mouth, arms, did masah and finally
his feet. Once Imam Abu Hanifah (RA) saw water coming out of a bathroom. He said this is
wudhu water and the person committed such and such sin. I can see the sins going down with the
water. When someone asked the person about Imam’s remarks, he said yes it was so.

Bounties of a heavenly wudhu

Remember that wudhu is a very strong practice. A person who is always in wudhu gets the
following bounties, his economic problems are solved, his income is filled with blessings, worldly
problems are solved, he gets benefits on each step he takes, he gets spiritual powers, doors of
blessings open on him, his generations get heaps and rewards.

So when a wudhu which is done unthoughtfully has such rewards, think of how much will the
wudhu done with meditation and concentration will give us. This is a wudhu of meditation, a
heavenly wudhu. It will give us wilayat, it will strengthen our bond with Allah and will bring
us closer to Him. But do remember that in your meditation you forget about the water which is
gushing out from the tap and getting wasted. You forget those waiting in line behind you to do

5
their wudhu. You are so lost in your thoughts of wudhu that you even forget your salah. This is
what the Satan wants. We sometimes get so confused that we keep on washing each part thinking
we have not washed it properly and for the correct number of times. So remember do not give in
to the tactics of Satan that he puts in your heart. Do the wudhu with meditation, calmly and put in
all the effort that you can. Now if we spend one hour in the bathroom thinking whether we have
done our wudhu correctly or not, we might even miss some raka’ahs of our salah while others are
waiting to go to the bathroom after us.

So first do your wudhu of meditation and when you read you Salah after this wudhu, you yourself
will notice the difference. An incident has just come into my mind let me tell you about it. Once I
was travelling in the interior of Sindh passing through a place called Kando Yaro near Nawab
Shah. I met a person there who told me that he had numerous illnesses and undergone hundreds
of tests and taken a large number of medicines but nothing worked for him.

My friends today we spend thousands of rupees on tests and fees of doctors but when it comes to
giving sadaqah (giving alms to the poor), very reluctantly we take out a mere twenty or thirty
rupees from our pockets. O friends of Allah! Go out and search the real needy, those who are
really poor and give them your sadaqah. Spending thousands on tests is a real waste. A specialist
doctor once told me that I am telling you three things that you should always remember. Never
put a thermometer in your mouth, don’t ever get your blood pressure checked and don’t give your
blood and urine for tests. These three important advices were given to me by none other than Dr.
Hamdani who was the principal of a Medical College. He said never undergo these three things,
instead give the money as sadaqah.

Anyways, I was telling you about the man in Kando Yaro. I told him to do this wudhu of
meditation and then ofer two rakah nafl (optional/voluntary salah) Salah. After some months I got
a letter from him telling me that he did as I had told him and now his is fit and healthy.

My friends! We have an infinite life after death so if all the problems of life after death can be
solved by this wudhu, can’t it solve our problems in this life? This dars which I am giving today is
a package of wudhu. Remember that it can solve all your problems, if not then it is our belief
which is weak, it is our Faith which is weak, we do not seek the company and nearness of a wali.

Once a wali said that a thorn was crying O Allah! You are Sattar ul Uyoob (the hider of all faults).
I am a thorn so hide this blemish of mine. Allah created a flower between the thorns. The
flower hid the faults of the thorns. Now when the gardener would water the flower he would also
take care of the thorn. So whoever says that I am a thorn should seek the company of a flower.
Thus the same Allah who by the blessings of the flower looks after the thorn, will also turn us
into a flower by the Blessings of the those pious people close to Allah .

So, I was saying earlier, this heavenly wudhu can save us from the fire of hell as well as from the
fire of our worldly problems. Cure your illnesses by this wudhu. Increase your wealth by this
wudhu.

6
A Sahabi once came to Rasool Allah and said that I am desolate with no money and no
food. Rasool Allah replied “Always be in Wudhu”. The Sahabi started doing wudhu and
started to be in the state of wudhu at all times. His miseries and hardships disappeared and
blessings (blessings) started showering upon him so much that he came to visit Rasool Allah
and said: O Rasool Allah , Now I have so much that I give to others, to my neighbours. Allah
has given me so much. Wudhu has opened the doors of blessings and bounties on me.

Thus my friends whenever we face difficulties and hardships do this heavenly wudhu. For this
wudhu of meditation, offer two raka’ah Salah, then see how your problem is solved. Any problem
what so ever, see it being solved for yourselves. If your problem is not solved it means that your
heart and soul are not in your astaghfar, they are not in your Salah. Keep on offering these two
raka’ah again and again and keep on begging Allah to solve your problems.

Now ponder on a thing that if nafl salah has so much power to solve your problems, then how
powerful is the sunnah salah? How powerful are the wajib and fardh salah?

In the beginning of this dars, I was telling you the difference between the approach of a Muslim
and a non believer. A Muslim also feels hungry and so does a non believer. Both also feel thirsty.
Now let’s see what is the difference between them both when hunger and thirst are satisfied and
quenched.

The non muslim will say my stomach is full because of food while the muslim will say only Allah
can feed me, only he can satisfy my hunger. A table is full of food, a Muslim will say O Allah!
All these are your bounties, your blessings, you have given me all this, if you Will, all these things
can vanish from my reach in no time. So O Allah! Make this food the means of gratitude,
beneficence and a way of gaining strength.

A person asked Hadhrat Ali , “ Who is a momin?” He replied, “One who is in worship twenty
four hours a day”. The person said “How can this be? We have to earn livelihood for our families,
we have businesses and other chores to do. How can we do worship twenty four hours a day?
Hadhrat Ali replied “You can do worship twenty four hours by thinking, before every task of
yours that what I am doing is for Allah . The wudhu you do is for Allah , the meal you eat is
for Allah . When you go out to earn your livelihood think that you are doing this task to earn
halal so that you may never ask anyone for anything. You will raise your children on halal
sustenance. Allah will bring them up but I will be the means. As I am going out to earn I Say
Ya Allah! Let me meet my expenditures by this earning so that I get strength from the food
purchased by this earning and I stand before you to do worship.

There is one person who extends his hand towards others and there is this person who goes out to
earn however meager the amount may be so that he doesn’t have to beg before others, he doesn’t
have to ask anyone. This person gets the rewards of worship whenever he raises his voice to sell
his good. So my friends make your thoughts those of a Momin. Believe me that as the directions of

7
your thoughts change you will get close to Allah . The love of Allah will enter your hearts.
A young man came to me once. He had grown his hair to quite a length. I asked why you have
such long hair. The young man replied that an actor had this type of hair, so I want to copy him.
On hearing this I said to him, if I ask you to make an intention that Rasool Allah had different
lengths of hair, sometimes his hair were shoulder length, sometimes till the ears, sometimes Rasool
Allah would get his head shaved. Sometimes He would have short hair. So if you young
man first change your niyah (intention) your hair will become the hair of Jannah (Paradise), a
resemblance to Rasool Allah and his extreme love and affection. By this intention of yours you
will become closer to Allah .

Thus my friend, our going to the bathroom is also an act of worship if done according to Sunnah.
If we say the masnoon dua (dua according to Sunnah) when entering and coming out of the
bathroom this becomes an act of worship. We enter with our left foot saying the dua and come
out with our right foot saying the dua. This is the way of sunnah and thus an act of worship.

Hadhrat Ali very rightly said that a Muslim’s twenty four hour life is itself worship. Thus do
this wudhu, do your worship and save yourselves from the fire of hell. Get health, wealth and
mercy of Allah . Once I was sitting with my sheikh (mentor), he said to me if while doing dhikr
(remembrance of Allah), I appear to faint or I do faint, hold me and make me do wudhu as the
satanic forces are trying to stop me from dhikr. There was a small pan full of water close to him. I
took it and kept it nearby. As my sheikh continued with his dhikr, he tumbled over. I immediately
held him and with difficulty made him do wudhu. He sat up and said without this wudhu the
satanic forces would have killed me. But if I had life because of Allah’s will I would have been
in coma all my life if you hadn’t made me do wudhu.

So my friends listen carefully and remember what I am going to tell you. In this era, the satanic
forces are after us trying to grab our money, our sustenance, our cooking oil, our sugar, our
water, so if we keep in wudhu twenty four hours they can never take away these commodities
from us. There will be blessings in our lives Insha’Allah. Wudhu is a weapon of a Momin, this
heavenly wudhu, this wudhu of meditation is definitely a great weapon. A wudhu in which
miswak is used and is done thoughtfully is more powerful than any weapon.

The opening chapter, the prologue of any worship is wudhu so do it reflecting upon it with great
concentration but remember once again do not waste water. If the foundation is strong then the
worship will be stronger and wuhdu is the foundation, the start, the most basic of worships. Once
my mentor went to a pond and did wudhu by its water. Then he said to me that doing wudhu
with the water of a well has a link to the Sunnah of Rasool Allah . Pious humans and jinn do
wudhu from wells.

Once Imam Ahmad bin Hambal (RA) was doing wudhu from a stream. A person came to do
wudhu there. As this person sat down he saw that the flow of water from him to towards the
Imam. So the person got up and went to do wudhu downstream where the water reached him

8
from the Imam. A long time after this, the person died. By Allah’s will someone saw the person
in his dream and asked him what was Allah’s declaration for him. The person replied that
Allah , the most Merciful said that once you gave respect and honor to a friend of mine
because of his wudhu, today I am respecting and honoring you, and whom I respect, he will go
directly into Jannah (Paradise).

There is a person who recites darood shareef every second, with each breath; he even keeps on
with this recitation while doing wudhu. He is a really lucky peron who has recited darood in
millions. There is a person who has recited Surah Ikhlas several million times. Some people don’t
and can’t believe this. They immediately start calculating the hours, minutes and seconds. I say
that this is possible. My Allah can give blessings and extend time for whom so ever He wishes.
Hadhrat Usman recited one full Quran every day. Hadhrat Muadh bin Jabal recited one
Quran each day. Several Sahaba recited one Quran every day. No you tell me how did they do
this? It is said that Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) used to recite a Quran everyday and some say that he
used to recite a Quran in three days.

As I was telling you earlier about this person who sends darood shareef on Rasool Allah with
every single breath, I invited him over to a dinner which I had given a few days back. I asked him
to come forward and told my other young friends not to mind as I am hopeful that I will be
granted forgiveness by the prayers of this person as I do not have a single deed by which I hope to
be pardoned by Allah . I will present them forward and say O Allah! I became the cause of
such people. They recited darood on Your beloved and made You happy. They sent darood on
Your dearest, Your most beloved Rasool . O Allah! He recited Surah Ikhlas, he remembered
you, your might, your tawhid (doctrine of Oneness of Allah ) every moment. So I have real
hopes that due to this person’s deeds, pardon may come my way.

There was a person who recited darood so much that even while wudhu he used to read it. He
was doing wudhu once in a river and as usual kept on reciting darood. A fisherman was fishing
nearby. He caught a fish and brought it home. He then lit a fire and placed the fish on it to cook.
Now the fire would not cook the fish. The man felt very perturbed and went to a wali and told
him everything. The wali had a great insight; he turned towards Allah and asked Him for
guidance in this matter. The wali was told that how could the fire touch the fish when a friend of
mine gargled in the river with darood in the water and the fish drank the water.

Miracles of wudhu water

My great grandfather was also a wali. A day before his death he said farewell to all. Everyone
thought he was going on a trip somewhere. He lay down at night, got up for tahajjud (the night
prayer) and started dhikr. He then tied the thumbs of his feet and covered himself with a bed
sheet. After a while his voice stopped coming, so my great grandmother asked her son, my
grandfather to have a look at this father. When they went to see him he had passed away while
doing dhikr. My great grandfather used to mention an amal (procedure) that whoever has a

9
barren land and no crops grow there, or whoever wants to build a house and has no money or
wants to buy a plot he should go there and do wudhu. The water of the wudhu should fall on the
ground and after that read two raka’ah nafl there. Then see the result yourself.

It was Hadhrat Zubair most probably, who got a piece of land in Tabuk. He went to this land
with his servant, did wudhu on this land and offered two raka’ah of Salat al- Hajah (salah of
need) there. He then asked his servant to start digging. A spring of sweet water gushed out from
that place. It was quite impossible that water would start gushing out from this land. His lands
became fertile and habitable. So if you, my friends, want any particular piece of land, do not have
a plot and want to build a house on it, go there and start doing wudhu on it so that water falls on
the ground and then offer two raka’ah of Salat al-Hajah. A person told me that whenever he
wants any land or plot he goes there along with his children and does wudhu. Then he offers two
raka’ah nafl and Alhamdulillah Allah blesses him with the land always. So my friends
whoever is in need, do this and say to Allah , O Allah! I have done whatever was in my reach,
now you do the rest. Another person told me that he wanted a plot so he used to take a bottle of
water with him, do wudhu in a plot and offer salah there and come back. He did not know whose
plot it was. As he could not go every day, he used to go on weekends and do wudhu and offer
salah there. After some time Allah gave him a plot nearby. Then he said to Allah , O Allah! I
am poor; I have no money, O Allah! I cannot build a house on it; you have given me this land,
now you provide me with the means to construct it. Again he started to do wudhu on it and offer
salah. After some time his house was constructed.

My friends if you have a shop or want to sell come commodity with blessings, start doing wudhu
there so that the water falls down and start offering two raka’ah salah.

This heavenly wudhu has great power and great strength. Do this wudhu of meditation and by the
blessings of Allah see for yourself the blessings and the bounties of it.

Wudhu water – A cure for 7 illnesses

Lastly I am going to tell you another deed. After doing this wudhu, drink three mouthfuls of the
water you have used to perform this heavenly wudhu, either it is from a tap, pan or a bottle, a
pond, well, river, stream or lake. These three mouthfuls of water are a cure for many illnesses:

1. Tension
2. Anger
3. Stress
4. Joint pains
5. Uric acid
6. Cholesterol
7. High blood pressure

So by the wasilah of Rasool Allah , start this heavenly wudhu now and see the bounties.
