ROBO WAR
Develop a wireless or wired remote controlled robot for ring fighting
competition. These robots must use only mechanical power generated from
some kind of motor mechanisms.
HINE DES
IPTION:
1. The maximum size limit of the Robot is 30X20X60cm (IXbXh).
2. Maximum weight of machine should not exceed the limit of 8Kg.
3. Lego parts and readymade mechanical arrangements are not allowed,
but yes one can use readymade wheels and remote control
mechanism.
4. Since using a remote control for controlling the robot a team must
have two different frequencies based remotes or a remote which can
be adjusted at two different frequencies in case of wireless remote.
5. Maximum power supply, which must be onboard, is 18V and 4.5.
6. A team can use any mechanical arrangement to fight but use of any
chemical power, EMP or any other like source is strictly prohibited.
RULES:
1, Machine must be controlled with a wireless or wired remote control
only
2. A team must have two different remotes of different frequencies or a
remote of multiple frequencies, as opponent’s frequency may match,
in case of prohibition of this rule a team will be declared disqualified
in case of wireless remote only.
3. Decision of judges will be final no further arguments on this issue
will be entertained.
4. Itisa friendly competition, so be genuine
GENERAL RULES
Sensors and electronics
The tem can use sensors (if they so desire) to sense any physical
parameters. Interference due to Flash lights’ arena lighting’ daylight
should be taken into consideration. Each team must have a dual
frequency remote control or a set of remote control, so as to avoid any
interaction between two teams on the same race.
Power supply
‘The power supply of the machines has to be onboard. No external power
source is allowed .The power source of the control pad used by theoperator is no included in the total voltage limit 220+- 2% volt 50 Hz AC
power supply will be provided at the arena . No special demands such as
of heavy equipments shall be entertained.
Arena
Arena will be me made up of hard wooden structure.
‘Triangular (equilateral) arena of side 6 ft will be used.
There will be few obstacles placed on the arena, they are indicated by
LED’s, and activated only when their sensor part senses any vehicle on
them. The whole procedures of obstacles are autonomous
Safety
Your machine will be first checked for size and safety, The machine
should not cause electrical power breakdowns .The machine must not
contain any combustible, corrosive or otherwise dangerous materials. No
explosive, compressive or expansive, either internal or external is
permitted. There is a risk of compressed containers rupturing and
creating shrapnel. The judges at their discretion can disqualify any
machine whose strategy or operation is considered dangerous.
Breakdowns/Timeouts
There is no provision for breakdown or timeouts in a single match. Your
machine must be sturdy enough to participate in several rounds, leading
to the finals.
Fouls /Penalties
Team members are not permitted to touch either their machines or those
of their opponents, once the game begins. The penalty for doing so is
deduction of 30 points.
1. The robots are not allowed to dismember themselves or leave parts or
any part of the arena.
Machine damaging any part of the arena will be disqualified
During the game run if a machine is static continuously for a minute
then the machine is disqualified.
we
Machine names
‘The name of your machine must be prominently displayed on the
machine
Sportive and Friendly games
Intentional damage to the opponent’s machine is not allowed. Goodwill
and friendship between competitors may evaporate if for example oneopponent may uses lightening bolts to destroy the electronics of the
competitor.
Scratching a team
Any team that is not ready to play at the time specified will be scratched
automatically. This applies to eliminations, prelims and final rounds. 15
minutes will be allowed for final adjustments
Demonstration to judges
Machines will have to be demonstrated to the judges (who will evaluate
the machine for other prizes) at a time and date specified in the schedule,
which will be put up. Any team that does not turn up at the specified time
will not be considered for the above special prizes.
Note: The organizers will not provide any system like microprocessor
kits, computers etc at the venue. The organizers reserve all rights to
change any or all of the above rules without prior notification as they
deem fit .The decision of the judges and organizers will be final and
binding
TEAM SIZE:
1, A team can have a maximum of four members. Out of which one is
the team leader
2. One guide per team is allowed.
3. Team members can be of different colleges.
