 Incorporated in 2003.
 SKS Microfinance Ltd is the largest MFI in India in ter s of total value of loans
outstanding, nu er of orrowers, who they call e ers, and nu er of
ranches, according to the Octoer 2009 CRISIL report titled India Top 50
Microfinance Institutions.
 Co pany's core usiness is providing s all loans exclusively to poor wo en
predo inantly located in rural areas in India. These loans are provided to such
e ers essentially for use in their s all usinesses or other inco e generating
activities and not for personal consu ption.
 SKS uses the group lending odel where poor wo en guarantee each otherǯs
loans. Borrowers undergo financial literacy training and ust pass a test efore
they are allowed to take out loans.
 SKS distriutes s all loans that egin at  2,000 to  12,000 (aout US $44-US
$260) to poor wo en. so they can start and expand si ple usinesses and
increase their inco es.
 ás of March 31, 2010, had 6.78 illion wo en orrowers and total disurse ents
worth ore than  14,000 crore ($3 illion).
 SKS uses the group lending odel, which yields repay ent rates of ore than
99%.
 InYear 2010,
i. SKS added 2.83 illion new e ers ( ore than 200,000 every onth).
ii. SKS opened 676 new ranches (averaging 55 ranches every onth) and
iii. recruited 8,340 new field officers (nearly 700 every onth).
