PROJECT UNDERTAKEN

TITLE: Formulation and Evaluation of Metformin Hydrochloride (SR) and Glipizide bilayer tablet

Object: To formulate and to evaluate the content of Metformin Hydrochloride (SR) and Glipizide bilayer
tablet.

Description: Bilayered glipizide and metformin hydro chloride (sustain release) were prepared by using
HPMC & EC as polymers in various ratio. The content was found to be highest in f5M. The best sustain
release of drug was found to be in f5M than in all the six formulation including pure drug and marketed
product. So, from above studies it was concluded that sustain release batch increases the drug availability
and patient compliance. The tablets were characterized for invitro dissolution studies and drug
content. Further the pharmacokinetic and other clinical studies may be carried out in future.
