INTRODUCTION

A VOLCANO is an opening in a planet’s surfance , which

allows hot magma, ash, gasses to escape from below the
surface. The word VOLCANO is derived from name of
VULCANO island of sicily, which in turn was named after
VULCANO the Roman God of Fire.
More than 80% of the earth’s surface comes from
volcanoes. Volcanic erruption formed the sea floor & some
mountains, gaseous emission from volcanoes formed the
earths atmosphere.
The study of VOLCANO is called VOLCANOLOGY.
