So what is Web 2.0?
(Consider the following analogy)
iPhone 3G VS. iPhone 4

 They look similar, why is iPhone 4 so much


better?
 iPhone 4 is a new generation of the 3G model.
 It’s new technology allows it to run multiple
applications, faciliate video calling (FaceTime),
and record HD video.
What about Web 1.0  2.0  ???
 What do the numbers mean following “Web”?

 Like iPhone, it signifies a new generation.


• Not in one specific technology, but of online interaction
between users and their websites.

 Old website models are obsolete.

 Conform to the new or be left with archaic


technology, subpar abilities, and ultimately failure.

 Web 2.0 is a paradigm shift in the services and


applications people expect from the Internet.

 Web 2.0 websites are platforms for the
exchange of materials and ideas from the global
population.

 Users must have search and identification skills if


they wish to participate.
