Fan Stitch

Need to Have:
5.5mm crochet hook
Double knitting wool – each hat is worked with two
strands held together and takes approx 100gs

Need to Know:
ch – chain
st - stitch
slst – slip stitch
dc – double crochet
htc – half treble crochet
tc – treble crochet
Need to Do:

Crown
ch 4, slst into 1st to form a ring

ch 2, (does not count as 1st tr here or for the rest of

the pattern), 12 tc into ring, slst into 1st tc to join

ch 2, 2 tc in same st, 2 tc in each tc around, slst into

1st tc to join

ch 2, tc in same st, * 2 tc in next st, 1 tc in next st,

rep from * to last st, 2 tc, slst into 1st tc to join

ch 2, tc in same st, 1 tc, * 2 tc in next st, 1 tc, 1 tc,

rep from * to last st, 2 tc, slst into 1st tc to join

ch 2, tc in same st, 1 tc, 1 tc, * 2 tc in next st, 1 tc,

1 tc, 1tc, rep from * to last st, 2 tc, slst into 1st tc
to join

ch 1, 1 dc in each st around, slst into 1st dc to join

Body
ch 2, * 3 tc, 3 tc in next st, skip 2 sts *, rep from *,
slst into 1st tc to join

ch 2, * skip 2 sts, 3 tc in next st, 3 tc *, rep from *,

slst into 1st tc to join

Repeat these two rounds twice more.

Brim
Next round – 1 dc in each st, slst into 1st dc to join
Last round – 1 dc in each st, slst into 1st dc to join,
fasten off.

Sew in ends and you're ready to wear your fan stitch hat.
