Introduction
This document is to discuss the solution we implemented in one of our client with respect to
restricting the submission of Concurrent Program in Office Hours.

Business Case.
1. Due do the huge amount of their data certain concurrent programs in Oracle Application
taking some hours to get complete, which is directly killing the system resources To
overcome this issue, Management decided to restrict the users not to submit the
concurrent program which is taking more time in office hours and the same have to
submit in after office hours.

2. For this issue we implemented a solution by defining a new Concurrent Manager. The
Step-by-Step approach of this is given below.

 Select the System Administrator

Responsibility.
 Concurrent->Manager->Define.

 Enter the Concurrent Manager

Name (Free Text).
 Enter the Short Name for
Concurrent Manager (Free Text
without space).
 Select AOL as Application.
 Give the Description.
 Select Type as Concurrent Manager

 Concurrent->Manager->WorkShifts

1. Enter the WorkShift Name.

2. Enter From and To Time of the
workshift. (By this we are
instructing the Concurrent
Manager to ACTIVE/DEACTIVE for
the said time.)
3. Select the From and To Working
Days.

1. Query the Concurrent Manager we

defined now.
2. Add the Work shift to this
Concurrent Manager. (You can add
more than 1 Work shift to
Concurrent Manager).
