A group of 35 state attorneys general charged LifeLock with using false claims to promote its identity theft protection serv ices. These claims were wide Iyadvertised using the CEO's Social Security number. The FTC's complaint also alleged that LifeLock falsely claimed that it would: pre vent unauthorized changes to customers' address informa tion; constantly monitor activity on customer credit reports; ensure that potential creditors would always call before opening a new account.
