Creating a composite IMRT plan.

(Adding one IMRT plan to an existing one.)

e.g. a GTV IMRT plan to a CTV IMRT plan

1. 1st plan completed through segmentation and final dose calculation.

2. Plan saved.
3. Set up beams for the 2nd plan.
4. IMRT parameters menu:

Opt – Yes/No
Set 1st plan beams to No. Leave 2nd plan beams at Yes.
5. Select ‘conform’.
6. Choose Linac, structure and desired margin.
7. IMRT parameter screen reappears.
Turn off Auto Conform for 1st plan beams.
8. OK
9. IMRT prescription menu:
Set up the Rx for the 2nd plan. Rank 1, 2, 3 etc.
Set 1st plan Rx to ‘All objectives off’
10. Start Optimization.
11. When satisfied with the plan, go to treatment aids and segment.
Only the 2nd plan fields will be segmented. The 1st plan remains
unchanged.
13. Perform final dose calculation.
