Excuse me. Can you tell me where the post office is? Go straight; it’s on your left.
Excuse me. Can you tell me how I can get to Tesco Lotus? Yes. It’s next to the high school.
Excuse me. How can I get to Central Plaza? It’s behind Robinson.
Excuse me. Is there a Library near here? Yes, there is. It’s next to &-eleven.
Are there any bookshops around here? I’m sorry, I don’t know.

Procedure 10 minutes

- Warm-up: Tongue Twister


Presentation 10 minutes

This has to do with the unlocking of vocabulary. When introducing the vocabulary, Ss will repeat words after me. After then I
will explain the meaning of the vocabulary with actions.
Teacher form sentences using the vocabulary. Teach student the right way to answer them.

Practice
Teacher allows Ss to practices the structures by asking them to give directions to a place using the worksheet.

Activities 1 - 15 minutes

Role Play activity.

Production
Students will know how to ask and give directions using the right expressions.

Evaluation - 10 minutes
After the role play given by the teacher, student will have to form their own role play base on the information they have on the
worksheet.
Teacher encourages students to try and memorized their role play.

Teacher gives Ss the chance to ask questions - 5 minutes


CONVERSATION - ASKING AND GIVING DIRECTIONS

Nat : Excuse me; can you tell me where the post office is?

Andy : Yes. It’s next to the cinema on the Cedar Street.

Nat : Please, is there a bookshop near here?

Andy : I’m sorry, I don’t know.

Nat : Please, how can I get to Central Plaza?

Andy : Central Plaza is on the 2nd Avenue, next to the bus station.

Nat : How can I get there?

Andy : From the bookshop, walk straight across the intersection on


the 2nd Avenue. It’s on your left.

Nat : From the bookshop, walk straight across the intersection on


the 2nd Avenue. It will be on my left.

Andy : That’s right.

Nat : Thank you so much.

Andy : My pleasure.
