INOTE:The power line for the instrument must be connected to protective earth.Page 3 Theory of operation Speed and time preset (794 RPM 55 xg 2 Min.. 1510 RPM 199 xg 3 Min. ) Unit is switched on by power switch on the right sido Unit is activated by pressing "START" button.Lid has to be opened first to load centrifuge olse start function is inhibited. Lid must be closed for operation. A lid switch prevents operation when lid is open. After cycle completed lid can be opened until a timeout occurs. to avoid overheating of lid solenoid. To open after timeout press "STOP" again to release solenoid. Cycle can be interrupted by pressing "STOP" button Display will start with 5 00(Min.). When cycle is started the countdown time to 0 00(Min.) will be displayed. When "START" button is pressed and pressure maintained during run cycle, the RPM's will be displayed. RPM is monitored every 5 seconds. Time is displayed again after "START" button is released Ramp up alarm is installed for first and second speed. If ramp uf alarm occurs instrument stops and alarm signal continues until "STOP" button is pressed. An imbalance detection stops instrument if unbalanced after 5 to 10 seconds.Page 4 Connect instrument to mains. Switch instrument on. Instrument will beep 3x and display 5 00. Open lid. INOTE:Make sure that lid is opened to mechanical stop.in order to avoid any hazard of injury. B. Operation Load centrifuge with cassettes. Close lid. Press “START" button. To select speed display during operation, press “START” button 5. When cycle is finished. instrument will beep 3x. Lid can be opened. To avoid heatup of lid solenoid lock will be closed after software time out. In this case you can open lid by pressing "STOP" button. 6 Lift rotor's center to lock cassette holders in place( for unloading or loading cassettes ). INOTE:Safety directions for handling the reagent cassettes have to be adhered toFile: BIOSM1.txt Page 1 of 1 Revision May 12th, 1992 uit Description BioVue Centrifuge Control PCB The Centrifuge functions are controlled by a processor PCB. The processor circuit consists of a Z 80 Microprocessor with 2 K RAM (61 16), 8 K ROM (27 G4), a reset and voltage control circuit (77 05), a Clock circuit (CLK 4M) and an input/output device (82 55). The’ input/output device controls the 4 x 7 segment display and the functions: motor on - off, the high - low relais K1, the lid solenoid, the brake and the beeper. Inputs are the lid switch, the vibration switch and the reed signal from the motor controler. Motor Controler pc Board The pots Pl and P2 on the control PC board are used for the adjustment of low speed (794 RPM adjusted to 804 with two cassettes) and high speed (1510 adjusted to 1520 with two cassettes). Pot P2 on the motor control PC board is used as a current limiting pot and is adjusted to max CW. Pot P3 is for basic RPM adjustment (see speed adjustment). Pl on the motor control PCB is not used with this application. Power Supply ‘The power supply Z2PS 45 supplies regulated + 5 Volt output for logic devices and + 12 volt for motor power.
