SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS SPECIFICATION for EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Purpose

Employee management system version 1.0 is a software system that will allow
the Human Resource department of Pasadena Corporation, California to
manage it’s employees in a better way. When needed, it’ll take just a few
seconds to find out the background of an employee & his/her contribution to
the organization. It’ll also facilitate keeping all the records of employees, such
as their date of hiring & date of leaving. So all the information about an
employee will be available in a few seconds. It’ll also make it very easy to
generate statistical data or custom data, like finding a certain set of
employees.
Overall, it’ll make Human Resource Management an easier job for the Human
Resource department of Pasadena Corporation

Project Scope Without an employee management system, it’s a tedious job for
the Human Resource department of any company. Employee Management
system version 1.0 aims to simplify the Human Resource management of
Pasadena Corporation. Employee Management system will store all the details of
the employees
including their background information, educational qualifications, past
experience, performance in the company & data related to their hiring.
It’d be possible for HR executives & top brass of the company to find all
information about an employee in just a few seconds. It’ll also help in making
business strategies & achieving corporate goals as it’d be easier & faster for HR
executives to make teams for various projects on the basis of educational
qualification, past experience & performance. Optimum utilization of resources
will thus inevitably lead to profit. It’ll also help in firing the employees who won’t
perform well & bring star
performers to the front so that the HR department can make sure they won’t
leave the company.

USER CLASSES The system will have the following user classes – HR executives –
will be able to view & edit information Others – will be able to view their salary
information

Functional requirements  The HR executives will be able to search according to


all this information.  The HR executives will be given more powers (add/modify)
than other users. Passwords will be encrypted.  It’ll be ensured that the
information entered is of the correct format. For example, name can’t contain
numbers. Incase information in incorrect format is added, the user will be asked
to fill the information again. Non-functional requirements  MindWorx Inc. will
give the initial passwords to the users which can then be changed because of
security concerns.  In case password is forgotten, a phone call to MindWorx Inc.
can be made to reset it. In that case, new password will be emailed due to
security concerns

Interface requirements The system can be accessed from a web browser on a


computer with an internet connection from anywhere. Security Requirements
User authentication passwords will be encrypted
 SQL Injection attacks will be avoided
 All ports of the server will be secured
 To avoid keylogging, an optional web-page based on screen keyboard
will be provided to enter log in credentials.  Database will be backed up
everyday in order to minimize damage from a rogue employee

Today most systems are Web-enabled and are integrated with current Internet
technology.
Presently there are many application but they provide facilities for companies
and big enterprises only. There are various companies, which are following the
same old technology for record maintenance i.e., use of register and pen. It is
very time consuming and finally generate there entire session reports. There are
chances of some sort of errors in this. ven it is difficult to maintain the register
records for long time in the same manner but software did it very well without
