Project #1: World History

Play the Part

In this project, you will be learning about how people from different time periods and
different countries have fought for what they believe in. Each student will be picking an
important historical figure from the list on this page to research. After researching the
individual of your choice, you will be giving a presentation in which you pretend to be
that individual. You will have to create posters with meaningful information and
pictures to show to the class. To receive full credit, you must include the following
information in your report.

 Where and when were you born born? (5 points)


 What are your religious beliefs, if any? (5 points)
 Are you poor, rich, or part of the middle class? (5 points)
 What kind of people support you? (10 points)
 What kind of people are against you? (10 points)
 What kind of issues are important to you? (10 points)
 What did you do about these issues throughout your life? (10 points)
 How successful were these efforts? (5 points)
 What makes you an important figure in history? (10 points)

*Your presentation is worth 70 points total. In addition to presenting, you will be


listening and taking notes on your classmate's presentations. This will be worth 30
points.

You will have Monday and Tuesday in the computer lab for research, and Wednesday in
class to prepare your presentations. Presentations will be first be given by volunteers,
after which names will be drawn out of a hat to determine order. Presentations will be
given on Thursday and Friday.

*Extra Credit will be given for posing questions to presenters about their historical
figures
