Subsequently, it was found necessary to include the three colours of the National Flag of India (Cotton Khadi) (see 1S : 1 - 1951), namely, (a) India Saffron, (b) India Green, and (c) Navy Blue. In view of this, in the revision issued in 1955, the name of Indian Standard Colour No. 106 was changed from ‘Royal Blue’ to ‘Navy Blue’ and two more colours, namely, Indian Standard Colour No. 284 India Green and Indian Standard Colour No. 574 India Saffron were added. After the publication of the revised version (IS : 5 - 1955), the Fire Fighting Sectional Committee (BDC 22) of ISI, under advice from the Standing Fire Advisory Committee of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, proposed that Indian Standard Colour No. 536 ‘Poppy’ be renamed. as ‘Fire Red’ and be reserved solely for the Fire Services in this country. This suggestion was accepted by the Ministry of Home Affairs and also by the Paints and Allied Products Sectional Committee. This change was made effective by Amendment No. 1 (May 1960) to IS: 5 - 1955, Recently, however, the Paints and Allied Products Sectional Committee was made aware of the difficulties faced by the All India Radio (AIR) due to the reservation of Indian Standard Colour No. 536 exclusively for the Fire Services. In view of this and the fact that AIR has to comply with international agreements, which require the painting of high radio masts with paint corresponding to international orange shade, the Sectional Committee decided to issue this Second Revision which includes one more colour, namely, Indian Standard Colour No. 592 ‘Inter- «national Orange’ corresponding to Colour No. 1205 in Federal 19N9906H55599909049900000000009 0880006005505 Liaise. 85010) 0)e) \ ICH CSCIC AC AC se i ie SG m LAM KM A MM ACT AC 1 OC ie ¢ € € G4 OE € LA { 101 Sky Blue No. 108 Aircraft Blue Zz No. 102, Turquoise Blue No. 166 French Blue No. 103 Peacock Blue No. 169 Traffic Blue No. 104 Azure Blue No. 174 Oriental Biue No. 105.
