Even though it is wild, it can be grown in the gardens over the arches. Flowers of this creeper are
yellowish red while the berries are red, about 6 mm diameter. This plant propagates through stem
cuttings.

It is very rich in medicinal properties. Juice of the stem is used in the treatment of irregular menstruation,
Scurvy, bronchial troubles, piles, epilepsy and chronic ulcers.

Juice of young shoots and leaves are used in the treatment of ear discharge and bleeding nose.

The power of the root is said to be a great medicine for fracture. It is called µAsthishrankala¶,
µAhsthisamhrata¶ in Sanskrit. µSandu balli¶ and µMangara Valli¶ are its Kannada name. It is known as Bone
setter plant and adamant creeper in English and µSandu booru¶ in Tulu.
It belongs to Vitaceae family and Cissus quandrangularis is its scientific name.
