Instructions to install MATLAB Student License 

 Activation key: 13214‐86809‐18736‐74015‐02483 

1. Go to the URL www.mathworks.com and create an account with your olemiss e‐mail id. There is 
a link, Create Account, available at the top right‐hand side. 
 

 
 
2. Once an account is created, Log In using the e‐mail address and password. 
 
3. Click on the link, My Account, available at the top right‐hand side. 
 

 
4. Click on the link, Manage License, which is available under My Licenses in the left side menu. 
 

 
 
5. Click on Add License. 
 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
6. Provide the activation key and then press Continue button.

7. Once the license is added, click again on the link My Account available at the top right‐hand 
side. 
 
8. Click on the link Get Licensed Products and Updates which is available under My Downloads in 
the left side menu. 
 

 
 
9. Select the Current Release, Appropriate Platform and Typical Method for download and press 
Continue. 
 

 
 
 
10. Click OK to 0pen the download_agent with Java Web Start.  If download_agent is not starting 
with Java Web Start, then you should update to the latest Java for your MAC and/or the latest 
patches of your O/S. 
 

 
  
11. Click Trust to trust the Mathworks download agent. 
 

 
 
12. Select the directory where you want to download the Mathworks files, and select Next. 

 
 

   
  

13. Confirm the chosen installation directory, then click Download. 
 

 
 
14. Wait for files to download: 
 

   
  
15.  After the download completes, click Finish to Start the Installer. 
 

 
 
 
16. Wait while the Installer processes downloaded files. 

 
 17. In the Mathworks Installer window, click Continue to install automatically using the Internet. 

 
 
18. Read the Software License Agreement. To accept the terms, select Yes, then Continue. 

   
  
19. Select your Installation Location, then click Continue. 
 
 

 
 
20. Enter your e‐mail address and Mathworks Account password, then click Continue. 

 
 
21. Select the campus license number 586002, then Continue. 

 
22. Select the products you want to install (or deselect products you don’t want to install, to use 
less space on your Mac.) Installing all products will require 2GB. Click Continue. 

 
 
23. Wait while Matlab installs.  
 

 
24. After the installation completes, click Continue to activate the license. 

 
 
 
25. In the Activation Window, click Next.

 
 
 26. In the Confirmation Window, click Activate. 

 
 
27. Select Finish once activation completes. 

 
 

   
  
28. Ensure that Matlab starts. 

29. If all is well, you may choose to delete the installation files folder from your desktop:
