Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome to the 2011 International Competitions and Assessment for Schools (ICAS). For over 20 years ICAS has taken place each
year in schools throughout Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, the Pacific Islands and South Africa. Students from
Years 3-6 are invited to participate in 2011.

All students receive a certificate and an individual student results letter indicating which questions they answered correctly. It also
highlights strengths and weaknesses.

Certificates will be awarded as follows:

• High distinction to the top 1% of entrants in the state.
• Distinction for the next 10% of entrants in the state.
• Credit to the next 20% in the state.
• Achievement to students who were placed within the top 20% of the year group in their school.
• Participation to all other students.

Computer Skills $7.70 Tuesday, 24th May 2011
Science $7.70 Wednesday, 8th June 2011
Spelling $11.00 Tuesday, 21st June 2011
English $7.70 Tuesday, 2nd August 2011
Maths $7.70 Tuesday, 16th August 2011

All tests will be conducted at school under the supervision of teachers and the Principal.

If you would like your child to participate in any or all of these competitions, please fill in the section below and return it to the school
office (with the correct money enclosed in an envelope) no later than Thursday, 17th March 2011.
