Non Flammable – Fire Safe Home

Radiant Barrier – A Better Insulation

Steel – It’s the new Smart Green

There Is No Reason For This!!

Conventional wood framing is extremely flammable,

Fires start from outside as well as from the inside!

Oak Knoll fire in Ashland Oregon burned eleven homes in a few minutes.
Some residents did not have time to salvage their cars or anything else
from there home, they lost everything.

Wood framed homes are highly flammable from both outside or inside the home. This fire
started on the outside in afternoon. Thankfully no lives were lost. If this would have happened
in middle of the night would have been different story. Building with non-flammable materials
will solve the problem.

Inergy Homes exceed energy efficiency standards!
Houses act like a big chimney. When hot air rises out the roof it sucks cold replacement
air in through the floor and walls. Air infiltration and thermal bridging are the largest loss
of energy dollars for most buildings. These homes are in Reno Nevada.

There are no hot spots or frost melt on this roof. This home was built using Inergy Homes
system, TechShield Radiant Barrier (RBS) continuous exterior EPS insulation. The steel
framing makes the home fire safe, air tight and energy efficient. Average utilities costs, $149 a
month. Inergy Homes exceeds energy efficiency standards!

See below, this is how Inergy Homes does it.

Do you wonder why your utility dollars are going through the roof?
Wall insulation is reduced by the amount of framing lumber used. A 2X6 is R-7, (1.3 R-value per
inch). Conventional wood framed walls are 30 to 40% wood with an R-7. The R in R-Value
means “Resistance” to heat transfer. The code is written for minimum compliance and only states
that the wall cavity must have R-21 insulation, but does not address the total whole-wall R-value.

Conventionally framed walls have poor whole wall R-values.
This is an outside conventionally framed wall with plumbing in wall cavity, all built to code.
This is a very difficult if not impossible wall to insulate properly. Energy loses through this
wall and crawl space will results in increased utility bills, both in summer and winter.
Exterior continuous insulation will cure this common defect.

This shower stall is placed on an outside wall of a home built under today's codes. There is no
insulation between the outside wall and warm tub/shower. The building inspector may or may
not catch this error. Even with insulation this wall will still collect moisture due to condensation.
An Inergy Home System stops condensation as well as block heat transfer. Ask us how.

Six 2X6 all wood framing of windows does not

allow for insulation. Using exterior insulation
would correct this error.

Steel!! The new smart green
2X4 & 2X6 Framing Out
Inergy Homes major components are TechShield (foil faced OSB) Radiant Barrier System
(RBS), and continuous exterior ridged EPS insulation supported by all steel framing. Properly
installed RBS will blocks 80 to 93% of Radiant heat transfer through walls and roof summer
and winter. This system will save money on your energy bills and increase the value of your
home at resale. This system is fire safe, energy efficient and affordable.

No cavity insulation required

The TechShield sheathing is installed on all exterior walls and roof. Stud spacing is 24 inches
on center now ready for sheet rock. No insulation in wall cavity is necessary leaving a 3 1/2
inches air space for completing the RS system. Exterior continuous ridged EPS insulation
completes the air tight building envelope. A standard Inergy Home built home achieved a 2.7
ACH50 which is 259% better than Energy Star requirement.

This exterior continuous EPS insulation restricts heat transfer that the RBS blocking system
misses. This system corrects out-dated building codes, science and materials, human errors,
and also reduces air infiltration, is fire safe, and has sustainable energy efficiency for the life
of the building. All of this while still being affordable and comfortable to live in. This building
system has been approved by the Oregon Department of Energy.

EPS Continuous Insulation wraps all

exterior walls and stops thermal
bridging and air infiltration.

The Exterior EPS Continuous insulation starts at the insulated footing/slab, and goes up to the
insulated overhang and connects to the insulated roof, completing an airtight envelope. This system
creates a fire safe, long-lasting, comfortable, and energy efficient home. This system far exceeds
building codes is 259% better than Energy Star Requirements. Ask your contractor, architect, or
designer how they can work with us.
The roof has continuous EPS insulation installed over TechShield sheathing completing the
RBS. Next, a layer of sheathing then the roofing of your choice. There are no air vents in

This home was built using Inergy Homes system, RBS, continuous ridged exterior EPS
insulation, steel framing, fire safe and air tight and is fire safe. This home is air tight envelope,
no air leaks, no thermal bridging or melted ice spots on the roof. Utilities are all electric and
included heat, A/C, cooking, hot water, bathing, laundry, and a large plasma big screen TV.
The total utilities for this 1550 Sq. Ft. 3BR, 2B home 2010 averaged utillities only $149.00 per
month.
