india too patroling Somalian waters. And what reportings? In a format
prescribed in Nov 2008. reporting prior entry, at entry n immediately after
exit, to DG 24 X 7 room. also other manning agents duty if employing indian
crew to report in their database. And reduce polling to 1 hr. I was sent out.
Called inside again in 2 mins, asked which company i was employed with. Told me

While flipping over my file Capt Sagar asked about place where I am staying (Noida), owned
property or rented. Why I haven’t thought of buying or investing in property in NCR region. Why
marks were not very good in 12 th even though 10 th marks were very good. Capt Sood asked
about connectivity of Noida sect 62 with Delhi, since they were planning for FOSMA over there
also. Then Capt Sagar asked. Why did I left Tolani after second mates and ESM after Mates? He
also asked why that is after 10 years at sea and 6 contracts as 2 nd mate, I was still sailing as 2
nd officer with NYK. To which I replied having changed the company and type of ships after
mates, NYK asked me to do 2 more ships with them as 2 nd mate before they can promote me.
Then he asked, how much time or contracts for master in NYK I told not before 5 contracts. Then
he asked do you plan to leave the company for quicker promotions. I said no had it been the case I
would have done it much before. Then my file was handed over to Capt Sood for further

Was asked to plan the passage and then berth Stbd Side. Vessel was provided with B/T and Engines
no tugs. I had to describe location of Pivot point during the entire passage, speed of vessel and
rudder movement at various stages and reasons for that, shallow water effects, effects of wind and
current. Demonstrate use of anchor for berthing (Must). B/T operational on speeds less than 5 knots
and requires 30 mins notice.
