INTRODUCTION:

In this research we will contact 50 people in the age group of 25-35yrs and
make an analysis of the most read newspaper daily across Ranchi. We will also
segregate and compare the readers on the basis of those who read English &
Hindi dailies. It will help us to know which newspaper daily is gaining
acceptance and popularity.

OBJECTIVE:

1. To determine the parameters on which the choice of the newspaper depends.

2. To determine the most effective parameter influencing the choice of

newspaper in Ranchi.

3. To determine the most preferred newspaper daily in Ranchi.

4. What percentage of people in Ranchi read Hindi & English dailies?

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:

Research design: Descriptive research design.

Since in this case we have sufficient information available on what data needs
to be collected and the purpose of the study, also we are clear about the sources
from where we need to collect the information, so it is appropriate to go for
descriptive study.

More specifically we will be using cross sectional design as our descriptive

design.
Kind of information to be obtained: The telecommunication network usage
pattern across Ranchi.
Sources of data: Two types of data will be collected, mainly, primary data and
secondary data.
Primary data will be collected through personal interviews.
Secondary data will be collected from the internet and magazines.
FIELDWORK/DATA COLLECTION:

The questionnaire will consist of open and close ended questions.

Data will be collected by means of personal interviews using questionnaire to be
carried out by the team members across various locations in Ranchi.

SAMPLING:
Sample size : 50
Sampling Technique : Non- Probabilistic Sampling techniques
such as the Convenience Sampling and
Snowball sampling.
Sampling unit : Individuals within the age group of 25-
35yrs.

DATA ANALYSIS:

Tools used for data analysis will be simple cross tabulation or univariate (mean,
median, and mode) analysis and bivariate (correlation) analysis.

Data presentation tools: pie charts and bar graphs.

EXPECTED OUTCOME:

We expect that most preferred newspaper daily in Ranchi will vary on the basis
of Demographics. Mostly people read English newspapers because it caters to
national & international news.
