1. ºerebrum - the largest division of the brain.
ü Four Lobes of the Brain:
a. Frontal Lobe
b. Parietal Lobe
c. Occipital Lobe
d. Temporal Lobe
- These lobes and areas corresponds to the
different centers of the brain for
receiving and responding to stimuli & for
intelligence and memory as well as for
emotion.

V Located at the lower portion,
partially covered by cerebrum
V Specialized in maintaining a sense of
equilibrium or balance.
A. Medulla Oblongata
V Wedge shape structure that is
continuous with the spinal cord.
V mesponsible for controlling reflex action
such as sneezing, coughing , and
swallowing.
V ºontrols most of the vital involuntary
actions.
4. Spinal ºord
V Tube of nerve tissue that is approximately 18
inches long.
V Serves as pathway of nerve impulses coming
in and out the brain.
V Serves as an important center of reflex action.
