automatic relay take-off system, by a time of -.09.
Swimmer 2 in lane 6 had an official split time of 1:44.05,
officially touching the wall .07 seconds later than
swimmer 2 in lane 5, whose official split time was 1:43.98.
The final exchange in lane 6 returned an NRT error,
meaning that part of the system had malfunctioned. The
evidence shows that not only were the splits incorrect,
( the correct split time for the finish of swimmer 2, lane 6
was 1:43.65) or missing altogether for lane 6, but the
takeoff between swimmer 2 and swimmer 3, lane 6, was
actually + .27.
