Students will understand that:
- scarcity of resources forces parties to make choices and these choices always incur a cost.
- decisions made by one party has intended and unintended consequences on other parties.
- fiscal policy decisions affect the nations economy.
- changes in the government’s tax policy affect consumers spending and businesses hiring
decisions.
- consumer spending is measured and plays a major role in a nation’s economy.
- the economy cycles

- It is the government’s responsibility to fix all problems with the economy.
- Consumers cannot do anything to help fix the economy.
- The government does not consider the average person when making fiscal policy
decisions
