Use 12 pt Times New Roman or Arial font only. Do not bold, underline, or italicize text (unless
referencing following MLA format).
Set page margins to 1 inch and include a header on the top right ½ inch margin of each page. The header
includes your last name, a space, and the page number. Example: Griggs 1
Your formal outline must be fully composed with simple and complete declarative sentences. Do not use
independent phrases or bullets anywhere in your outline.
Use full sentence transitions between the introduction and the 1st main point, between each main point,
and between the last main point and the conclusion.
Follow the outline format for the Body using the appropriate indentation, numbering, lettering,
coordination & subordination (Do not include what is in parentheses in your outline).
